No they dont, look how much a year old brz depreciates comparing to other cars out there in 30k price range. You'll be surprised.

I would have gone with the 10
If they came in white and the dealer didn't lard it up with tint, wing, mud flaps to well over the the cost for a Limited that comes standard with more options. I say BRZ Limited unless you just need those headlights. |

Go to the "Issues Warranties Recalls" section and read some of the threads.
Both cars have issues (to be expected) but there is a common difference in how the warranty on each of them is honored/handled. Not saying its black and white but you will find a common theme there. After reading that thread you might have a more clear idea of which brand you want to buy. |

2013 with 6k went for $23,750.00 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Subaru-BRZ-L...US_Cars_Trucks or this one - $23,797.00 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Subaru-BRZ-2...US_Cars_Trucks Generally you can buy one for 23k-24 even locally on craigslist. Heck, you can even buy ones with few mods on it, such as exhaust etc for that price, if you look at surrounding states. That's how the situation looks like at least in the Midwest region. And yes, according to me, BRZ Limited is a $30k car, I count taxes etc. That's what I paid out the door in April (Chicago taxes, new plates). In comparison, my other car I bought new, is 2008 Lexus IS250. I paid $30K for it out the door with some options. After the year, car was still worth more than $24k. Don't look at statistics, look at real life. I don't know how the market with BRZ's looks in CALI, but if you pay marked up price at this point of time, where there is no more shortage of this model- You are a moron or rich kid who don't give a damn, if he pays 2-4k more over MSRP (that's an entry level turbo kit right there).

I looked at both car and really did not have any consideration of Subaru or Scion (I have owned each brand in the past). Things I considered important were HID lights, Nav/radio, and AT ... and the price. I was able to buy the 10 series for about 2K less than the loaded Subaru ... with the important equipment ... in the end, that sold me. The fact that Subaru dealership kept changing the numbers also convinced me to go elsewhere.
My preferred color would have been red ... but the sliver ignition has really grown on me ... I like it! So I now have the 10 series ... I am happy with it! M advice, find what is important to you and price it out! |

Saw the Silver Ignition in person the other day, great color.
I'm a previous Subaru owner, so my loyalty is with Subaru. Scion's image is too 'boy-racer' and 'young and hip' for me, personally. Light up badges? Light up dash panel? Small gimmicks. It comes down to which fascia you like, really. The BRZ is the more reserved of the two. FRS is very 'nose-heavy' looking and the BRZ has the famous 'stache'. And comparison of prices is hard to do, yes. I was able to order my 2014 below invoice pricing. |

I like both the FRS and BRZ, just went for the BRZ because the closest Toyota dealer that also sell Scions is almost 150 miles away.

some reasons i went 10 over BRZ
a) headlights b) front looked much better than the black plastic brz c) much more toyota dealerships d) 10 was actually limited unlike brz "limited" which was just a name e) unique/uncommon color either way, you cant lose... its a great car. |
