Engine swap question

Say you swaped in a ej engine to get a quick and reliable turbo build.
Would you still get the same lower center of gravity as the new engine?
Would the ej engine way less than the new one?

Just two questions i wanted to ask when contemplating what you could do to the car

no and no.

unless you did some serious engineering of the swap your going to shift the balance of the weight with the turbo peripherals. IC/Turbo/Pipes/etc will weigh an extra ~100lbs upfront on the car. And the engine weighs more for the same reasons. Turbo's arent lighter than N/A.

In addition I don't think you could situate the EJ engine as low because of the physical dimensions of it. It would drag on the road (or nearly so). So you wouldn't have the low center of gravity either.

the 1.6 DIT would shave a bit a of lbs off a 2.0L T you would have more TQ and more hp

the hood has ample room under it for that intercooler, just get an aftermarket hood scoop for it and you're good to go

1. Search
2. No, you would likely to place the EJ further up and forward to accept the pluming. Changing the COG.
3. No, EJturbo would likely to be heavier because of the more items present on the long block.
4. Its confirmed that the EJ engine does not blot up to the AZ6 transmission, so additional work may be required to get it to fit..or use the WRX transmission which will change placement of many things.
