Screencast: closed loop boost control with RaceRom
[ame="http://youtu.be/ksCDmM38QYE"]http://youtu.be/ksCDmM38QYE[/ame]
A basic intro to closed loop boost control with Ecutek RaceRom. I misspoke at 3:40 and said 'manifold pressure delta' when i meant to say 'boost pressure', so ignore that. I'll edit it out when i get time . Another note is that i changed the order of the maps before making the video to make it 'make more sense'... well that won't work in real life . Custom maps are applied in alphabetical order, so in reality you'll want to have the proportional and integral comps later in the chain than the initial replacement of the duty cycle output. Big thanks to mervin @EcuTek for catching that one. Last edited by jamesm; 02-10-2014 at 10:50 AM. |

Another great video for the community. Just another PnP option for the EBCS for those who are looking to do this type of boost control via EcuTek is the Perrin EBCS. That is what I use on my setup however, I use it for regulating boost on a Vortech setup via Wastegate control but it's hooked up exactly the same as you would for any forced induction application in need of electronic boost control.
I need to get into my maps and start refining "Sine Wave" effect as well but as you said it is time consuming so I have been slow to get it dialed in perfect. It's been pretty well compensated for but for those interested in what @jamesm is referring to in the video this is a fantastic explanation to those who have seen this actually happening in practice. Once again great vids
