Another round of weight reduction today. Since I have a one piece drive shaft Ive been wanting to remove the stock mount underneath looked like a healthy chunk of metal.

This is the Culprit

Got a few of these to help

This job was a pain in the ass. Had to remove center of exhaust and driveshaft to begin with. My drill was too big to get into the upper corners, had to use a dremel to grind down the hard to reach welds.
All that work its only 1.75lbs

Worn out and putting the car back together something hit me. The gas tank shield really only covers the middle as the sides are exposed. Anything that would fly up would hit my Borla muffler (in front of tank) or the drive shaft so that sucker is good as gone! Just put the sides of the tank under floor jacks and removed the straps holding the shield and the tank to the car.
Now today was worth it 3.75lbs!

Total loss Today 5.5lbs for Free!
New weight 2466.25 LBs

Had some leftover white coroplast and used it to fill the tunnel area and used clips in the stock holes

Front pipe area, as you can see the frame starts to curve upward so that was about as far forward as I could go.

Have it all the way back meeting up with my Borla muffler which fills in the rest of the tunnel void

It is up against the pipe as it gets close to the Borla so some of it will melt

Also today was able to make the Vac Motorports seat mount a pound lighter since I don't use the back part of the mounts.

I need to take brighter pics but its really for me to keep track

So I lost 1lb modifiying the seat mounts and gained a 1/2 lb with the coroplast plate

New weight 2465.75 LBS

Sneak peak for tomorrow stared getting the tar out of the car this stuff is really heavy already have about 5lbs out but will have a final tally when I get it all out, and some heavy foam under the carpet will go!!!

Major weight reduction breakthrough!
Got all the Tar and under carpet foam out of the interior today

No need for dry ace a few seconds with torch and it turns to goo. Easily scraped up. Also allows you to get the horizontal areas

Tar locations:
Trunk
Behind Rear Speaker
Under Rear passenger foot
Under front seat feet
Side or Radio console

Behind the rear speakers first

rear seats floor and you can see the heavy under carpet foam

side of stereo console

More heavy rubber backed foam

Passenger side done

Foam weight

Tar weight

Heavy chunks

Back together like nothing happened

Final Weight Tally
Under foam = 6.25lbs
Tar = 6.5lbs

New Car weight 2453lbs

Huge Preview of some awesome lightweight parts will be installing soon

just got in some DRY Carbon parts from Seibon. I got the doors and trunk lid as they should give the most weight loss per $.

Weights did not disappoint

Doors 10.75lbs each
Trunk 7.5lbs with the center piece included

Doors

Looks like all the stock mounting points inside

10.75lbs !!!

Trunk - Was very happy it came with the center piece, It didn't show that in the pictures and I though I would have to use stock or buy separate

7.5lbs

Got the trunk installed today. Hardest part was getting the clips out for the licence plate seriously shit took a half hour for 2 clips. Everything fit great had to cut hole for backup camera though carefully with a Dremel.

Made a little template for the camera cut

Didn't take pictures during the install it was starting to rain but I persevered and got it done

Driver side had slightly more gap than passenger but both were close

And of course the weights now Stock trunk, wing and shocks were 18.5lbs

11lbs weight loss, Vehicle new weight 2439.75 LBS
