Price too high considering you need to spend addětional money on fixing the suspension, unless you always wanted to own a sailboat....LOL

That is another good point. Even if you buy the Club most people end up pouring more money into the suspension to fix the body roll. The car is already more expensive than the Twins. I barely fit into a ND and after driving a BRZ I was surprised how much I liked it not to mention the great driving position for someone tall. It has very little body roll. The BRZ comes stock with aluminum pedals which are an extra price option on the ND.

I used to own a 350z (35th anniv) and liked it well enough. I test drove a few 370z's w/SP but never liked them as much.

Miatas are a different story for me. Every Miata I've driven has put a smile on my face. I guess I'm just a fan of light cars. Of the cars I've owned, my favorite have been a Boxster S and FR-S. If Mazda made a real ND coupe that didn't add significant weight (or an updated RX-7 ), I'd definitely consider it.

Getting a matching Tourneau watch with that is like getting a matching Craftsman toolbox when you buy that special edition truck.

I guess it made no sense to go with a matching set of luggage since no trunk space.

Agree that at nearly $34K this is too expensive, but this is some some special edition version with a bunch of unnecessary options tacked on. (a matching watch for my car? wtf)

How much will the base model be? At a little under $30k it might be reasonable.

34k Miata that will sell like hotcakes? 40k Focus on waitlists? Tell me more about how a BRZ STI won't sell please.

If I didn't already have my FR-S, I'd be all over an RF. Love it.

I have a hunch Subaru doesn't do it because they know precisely how many WRX STI's they sell vs. the regular WRX/Impreza.

I guarantee there's a powerpoint sitting on a dozen Subaru engineers harddrives outlining exactly how much it would cost and how much money they predict it would lose if they did it at various price points.

I agree with this.

Also, to be fair, everyone likes to focus on the highest price. The $34k ND is the Launch Edition RF. It will "sell like hotcakes" because there are only 1000 of them being produced. The GT will be $32.6k and the Club $31.5k. And the ND is doing alright, but it's nowhere near setting sales records, so I wouldn't say this is proof of market demand.

It's also a powered retractable hardtop, with a nicer interior, and targeting an older demographic. That's a very different value proposition from an 86 with added horsepower.

Is it bad that I went from an FRS to an STI and am now seriously considering getting an ND miata? lmao

The RF Launch edition with ugly BBS rims apparently sold out in the UK.

Only if it's bad that I would probably sell my FRS if Toyota ever makes the SFR available in North America.
