I took a tS and added better tires and brake pads, and it got even better yet.

Isn't the BRZ TS supposed to be track-focused? Seems silly that Subaru put the regular PS4 tire on there instead of the PS4-S or Cup 2. Not sure what they were thinking as it would have made a 1-1.5 second difference over a 1 minute lap.
I think it is because of a lack of 215/40/R18 with the PS4S and Cup 2 at least from what I've read. Basically it's just a trim deviation of the JDM STI Sport off the factory floor.

The old JDM tS wasn't a factory production line model and used 225/40/R18 PSS. Most of the improvements off that bespoke car has been implemented with the factory car using a more cost effective solution, minus some of the good stuff but very minor.

Always trying to go for the best solution, what is the good stuff that was left off?

Pillowball rear suspension joints, Recaro Sportster CS option, Bilstein monotube shocks (the front shocks being inversely mounted), draw stiffeners with the polished stainless steel rods from the retail catalog version, other than the retail draw stiffeners (and perhaps the seats) the rest can be easily added back if desired.

225/40-18 Yokohama Advan A048 and Winmax W2, although I might recommend W3 or W4 if you want to stick to switching them out for the track like I do.
