Compensation for CEL/SL
I'm kind of curious what people are seeing offered as compensation for the issues on their cars after it was fixed. I know I have heard of extended warranties and car payments.

yeah, as for compensation when they asked what i wanted, i told them simply that i want my car back driving and smelling like when i drove it off the lot, plus dealership installed foglights, jdm five-axis spoiler, and my extended warranty paid for(since i purchased it). THEY said they could work with that. lol, i got a call on friday after my car was in the shop for almost a week, and they updated me on my car, and said monday they would have another update regarding my compensations.

Im really impressed Toyota is offering compensation at all, i mean, this is the reason why there is a warranty on the car and technically speaking, they don't owe you anything other than fixing the problem at no cost to you.
They are definitely going very far out of there way to thank their customers for their patience, and for their choosing toyota as their car. big big kudos to Toyota. In the 70's and 80's if something like this happened, theyd give you a thumbs up and a smile and say good luck!

10 days.
Originally requested another car after it CEL'd with less than 10 miles. But settled for their offer after the flash was announced. |

If I accept compensation, do I still have right to enforce lemon law? My car been in shop since 8/31/12 and going on second repair on same CEL SL issue. They are getting close to 30 days in shop requirement for a lemon.

As in the first time they replaced VVT cam sprocket and maybe OCV and that didnt help? Now the second repair is the ECU, right? Or you dont have any info?

I haven't been offered anything by SoA for 29 days of downtime and tons-and-tons-and-tons of time and aggravation chasing them around by phone, but by the way they talk to me, I feel a revised HPFP could be on the horizon, and once that's resolved, then we'll talk.
