No logic there... We all know they'll add +6 to the AT, declare the MT redundant and eliminate it. It's all part of the long-term AT conspiracy.

I wish E85 was readily available in Canada...that would be enough

It took Toyota 5 years to add 5hp to the 86. At this rate we wont see 215hp until around 2027

new rumor is for a 1.8 liter super charged engine, and dramatic styling changes. 2020/2021 rumored release time frame.

A "baby" Supra makes sense and the rumor of a 1.8lt SC/turbo engine is also much more down to earth. Of course, it is still just a rumor

They will constantly change opinion and leak different ideas to the press, until there is the decision to go forward with a next generation.

Hate to burst that bubble:

"It will not be a cheap car. There will be a clear difference between the GT86 and Supra. The GT86 remains the affordable sports car, the Supra becomes the performance model."

The difference between a partnership with Subaru and one with BMW should be a pretty clear clue as to what costs will be like.

What bubble... I never said I wanted a cheap car next time around.
I’ve enjoyed my 86, but when it comes time to change I want to upgrade - not just get more of the same.

Service and repair will be spendy as well. I do not understand why they did not take the original engine over to Yamaha for tweaks. The engine is half of the character of the Supra. And the available interior shots look like they are playing F-1 racecar becasue F-1 racecar. No thanks.

If Mk2 ended looking like this I might actually consider it. It brings out the boy racer in me.

The new styling too busy and fuzzy for me. Hope the real thing has cleaner lines.

Will they keep building and selling Gen 1 FT-86 for the next three years, until the arrival of the next generation? I hope so.
