Most popular is Blackvue models, especially the dual-channel setups that can have front and back camera'. I'm personally using a Blackvue DR550 and it's been flawless.

I use the G1W-C. If you don't need a rear camera, this should satisfy your needs at around $50. It is set up in my car such that it is completely unseen from the driver's side and the wires are completely hidden. I'll post pictures in my build thread later this week.
The "C" version of this dash cam is the capacitor model and runs without a battery, hence increasing its longevity. There are many fakes on the market, so I suggest purchasing from a reputable seller. I purchased through seller estore009 on ebay with no problems. Here is example footage from my cam: It occasionally moves up and down an unsubstantial amount (as demonstrated at 0:23 in the video), and that's the only flaw i've come across. Let me know if you have any questions!

I have the two A118-C for two of my vehicles. Bought on amazon from spy-tec, which was the cheapest at the time. I like it because it's pretty stealthy and it's relatively cheap compared to the others. Day time quality is good, night time quality is not the best. But for the price, I cant complain.
I was planning on getting the G1W-C, similar to the poster above and comparing the two. But Spy-Tec ended up sending me the G1W with the battery. So I ended up returning it and got another A118-C cause I liked it. Some sample vids. Night time following a friend's s2k. Caught a crazy driver cutting across two lanes to get to the off ramp then ran into a tailgating mustang. |

I just bought a mini 0805, branded and sold by ojocam. I'll post a review somewhere after I use it for a bit, but had a lot of the functions of the more expensive models for half the price, and much smaller than g1w.

https://dashcamtalk.com/ is a great site for reviews on dashcams. I used this site and purchased the A118 which I have been using for 3 weeks now. Price being the driving choice factor, the quality is decent enough and it is easy to set up and ignore. I might invest in a more expensive option with dual channel for a rear cam eventually, but for a cheap first dashcam I'm happy with the A118.

I use a Blackvue as well, and it's pretty good, but honestly for the price get something else... It's overpriced :s

I have been satisfied with the image quality both day and night. Installation is straightforward, and it's very small. I placed it behind the rear view mirror o the passenger's side of the cabin. From the driver's seat, I cannot see it. From outside the car, it's visible if you happen to look for it. I just learned today, that GoPro is releasing a new smaller camera (GoPro Hero4 Session). A bit pricy, but I could see adapting one for use as a dash cam, then duty on my road bike.

Finally found time to install the ojocam today. Was test fitting, and the plug the powercord connects to fell inside the camera when I unplugged the powercord to mount it. / Guess I need a replacement now.

I second the A-118C or B40 dashcam. They are super discreet and have worked flawlessly. I've had one in my FRS for over a year (The non-capacitive one) and it hasn't blown up in either winter cold (-30 degrees fahrenheit) or super hot humid summers (95+ degrees fahrenheit). I loved it so much that I even bought a second one for my WRX (Newer Capacitive A118C) recently. I've very satisfied with the video quality and super wide FOV (170 degrees if I'm remembering correctly.)
Not only that but since there's a dependable seller on Amazon (Spy-Tec) you don't have to worry about cheap knockoffs. I absolutely recommend this one and installation is a breeze on the twins. I just plug them into my hidden cigarette lighter in the glove compartment. |

Ojocam's customer service seemed nice enough. They are going to replace it, and suggested I plug into the mount, not the camera, when using in car.
