Hey guys sorry for the necro.

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBJ-0ilMDD4"]This video says it must be rewired.[/ame]

But I've also heard people saying it can be repinned?

What seems to be the general consensus?

Yes it can be repinned. change the red and yellow/green wire on the USDM connector ( car side) on the driver side, and on the passenger car side change the red and white wire.

this allows the brake power to go into the sequential tails, and the brake light to go to the 4 diodes.

Repost for the necro

re pinning is a PITA if you do not have a hook and pick screwdriver set. I used a very thin flat head and it was a mission to pull the connector tabs to release the wires. For those 1st timers, Stop over thinking it and get it done already.

that said the scrib set I had was a harbor frieght free pick up and you actually only need that if you have a hooked one and a straight one.

literally nothing is stopping you from trying. these connectors are still young and not brittle..

Just cut and resolder the cables needed. You can use solder connectors. Ford uses them for all their card

Cut and resolder is something I would've done but it ends up looking ugly. Only do it if really needed.

Updates on those who still have them? Condensations? LED holding up?

Confused cause 86speed video said they need to be rewired, not repin?

Looking to get smoked version

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/86-Smoke-Tai...xbtBfM&vxp=mtr

does this seller look legit?

Thanks everyone

Just updating on my set of tails, So far they are bone dry and they light up just fine since December 2018. Always make sure the foam gasket is aligned correctly and never over tighten the screws because it will cause the gasket to rip.

Did you ever figure it out? Was it wired for USDM vehicles or do we have to repin them? I bought the same taillights.
