so, i just got rid of my greedy, and instead put on a perrin NOT-resonated catback. all i can say is holy****. difference is unbelievable in sound. perrin is almost stock sounding to me at this point, SO QUIET and zero drone but it has a very nice tone from what i could hear when ripping under bridges. install was easy, just have to mess with the v-bands to align the tips just right. i still can't get over how much significantly less cabin noise there is and this is the UNresonated version, the resonated must be whisper quiet.

well done perrin.

now i'm sorry for not my usual picture quality, hands were too dirty to grab my camera so i used hipstergram follow me @comrad

greddy before i polished her up:

im so torn apart on which exhaust to get either the Invida Q300 w/ catless front pipe or perrin unresonated? Both are similar in price but one comes with two pieces and with the possibility of adding more power. But i feel like the Q300 even with the frontpipe is still gonna be too soft for my taste. And listening to the perrin unresonated it sounds awfully good too. hmmm decisions decisions. Any help guys?

I may be biased, but you'll love the Perrin headerback. I know I do!

pros
- zero drone
- loud under WOT
- quiet enough for DD but loud enough to know it's there (freeway speeds ~70, so quiet that you can have a conversation without hearing the exhaust note and passengers even forget that I have the headerback installed)
- customer service is top notch

yeh im definitely leaning towards Perrin. Though i dont have the money for a full headerback right now, i will slowly get there. Thank you for the information. For now im probably going to get the unresonated catback, because i hear the resonated is almost stock sounding

I put the non-resonated Perrin CBE on my car a couple of days ago. I'm not the kind of person who likes a loud exhaust, and I'd say this one is right on that line of being too loud. It sounds pretty boomy from about 3200-4000 rpm. I find myself liking it though, so I'll probably keep it.

would you say it drones at that RPM, and do you get that raspy metallic rattle sound?

There is no drone on the Perrin non-resonated catback.

Raspiness comes out if you have a non-catted front pipe, at least that's the general consensus.

I'm waiting on the Perrin Overpipe and Catted Frontpipe that I ordered from FT86Speedfactory earlier this week. Once I receive it and get it installed, I'll be able to provide some feedback on whether or not I encounter any issues with the full headerback combination. I don't expect any, based on the videos I've seen of other similar setups, but I'll add my feedback to the mix once available.

Thank you very much Foobar, that would be very much appreciated!

I wouldn't call it drone, just boomy under load and engine braking from about 3200-4500 rpm. It gets quieter above and below those RPMs.

Also the sound isn't raspy at all, not sure where that reputation came from. As Foobar mentioned, the rasp might come with the removal of the factory cats. I only have the CBE and there's no rasp.

Alright well in that case i think this would be the perfect exhaust. I really appreciate everyones input, thank you all. From what ive read and heard the exhaust is quite loud at first but after some miles and carbon build up it does settle down. Is this correct?

And DarkSunrise is it possible for you to post a video of yours? That would be much appreciated.

The noise does settle down with some mile but the loud cold start is always there. It's the characteristic of our car.

Yup, those clever engineers came up with some tuning magic to warm the engine up faster. It works, but it's loud.

Haha I'll see what I can do. I'm pretty busy at work for the next few days, but perhaps afterwards.
