SUNDAY. Tcoat and Sapphireho drive..
We plan on getting up early and meeting up (about 7 ) with whoever wants to go in saratoga at the old general store in town. You can't miss it. We will then go 9 to skyline to Alice's for breakfast. After that we may drive thru La Honda to Hwy 1. We will be in a grey Lotus. |

Hi guys. Long time no see. Been a lurker lately, but still still drive my FR-S almost every day. Oh yeah, I got married a few years back I haven't driven hard for a while, so I did the 35/92 loop (also to log some data). Is there a Google map of good loops in the bay area? I forget. Examples:
Caņada / Kings Mountain / Skyline / 92 43 Min - 22.7 Miles https://www.google.com/maps/dir/37.5...949887!1m0!3e0 Quimby / 130 / Clayton / Mt. Pleasant 43 Min - 16.6 Miles https://www.google.com/maps/dir/37.3...a=!4m2!4m1!3e0 See ya! Mike

@mike_ekim1024 Nice little resource I found from a friend a while back. http://www.alpinespeedstars.com/map/ What I used to do was hop on Google Maps and find the squiggliest road I could find.

I can attest that the "Spike Loop" (Yes i'm calling it that) is a pretty good route to take with 80-90% smooth roads, minimal bumps/dips/uneven surface and almost no single lane blind corners. Good elevation changes and a pretty even mix of different corner types. Low car friendly too (for the most part..) So whens the next drive?! I'm available day or night (preferably night)

Thanks for the +1 on the Spike Loop! haha, that's a great name for it. I'd only add that if you're coming from the south bay it's nice to add highway 9 and then skyline to the loop because that way going up you have a nice short twisty section of 9 to get your adrenaline up a bit, then you've got the mostly smooth Skyline road with some twists to relax you but keep you wound up a bit, and then once you get to Alice's you can either stop for a few minutes or start down 84 and get right back into it.

One of my regular drives, especially in the evenings, is 17 to Bear Creek to 9, then back down 9 back to 17. From my house it is about a 50 mile loop. |

La Honda Drive, Saturday June 23.
We'll be meeting at Alice's around 7:45AM and leaving at 8AM sharp to try and avoid most cyclists/early morning traffic. If anybody wants to stop at Alice's for food, that'll be afterward unless you want to do the drive separately from the main group as leaving later than 9 guarantees cyclists and much more motorist traffic. Route: Alice's down 84/La Honda to Pescadero Creek Rd., hang out for a while (depending on when we arrive) in the little town to grab coffee and/or bread at the store, which opens at 9AM. Then take the same loop back. For anyone coming up from the south bay, I'll probably set up a caravan of sorts that meets in Saratoga and takes highway 9 to Skyline over to Alice's. Timing for that is probably to meet up around 7 and leave by 7:10AM. Let me know if interested.
