If I was in Canada I'd just fill-up with 91 shell. So far I only heard one report of crickets on that gas, so I tend to think that it was a fluke and Shell power 91 is cricket-free.

I'm sorry to shit on your "omfg fuel pump TSB" party but this WILL NOT fix the issue.

The issue is with the valve in the pump not liking ethanol.

The only fix (for now) is to run E0 (pure gas) in your car.

There are also reports of dealerships refusing to do a second replacement while others did. Should you happen to have this obstacle at your local dealer you will have used up your only replacement opportunity.

Secondly, if you wait until closer to your original warranty expiration to have your first replacement, and should that not be an updated model # and still produce crickets, then you should be able to report and document that it did not fix once again.

Then, in the future when they do finally release a properly working pump and your warranty is past expiration, they should retroactively repair it because you documented it being still chirping before your warranty expired.

Of course I would make absolutely certain, probably even get it in writing about the possibility of a future repair being retroactive because it didn't work twice. Plan ahead.

My experience as well. Pump replacement definitely did not change anything.

I ALWAYS fill up with 91 Shell, yet I always had crickets! I got the replacement part installed a few weeks ago when it was first released....no crickets yet (1000km)! I'm not expecting this problem to be fixed for good (considering everyone else has the problem come back) but I'm hoping!

Sigh. Along with the post above, it makes it three reports of Canadian crickets purely on ethanol-free gas. I suppose I can make another trip to Windsor to check if Canadian 91 Shell still quiets my crickets..

I never had crickets on Shell V 91. Haven't tested with other ethanol blend gas.

Mine took roughly 5 hours to install. So basically a day. I've done 1000-1500Km since then and it's still quiet....like the first day I got it! And let's just say I haven't been gentle with her So far so good!

Do you know if the TSB involves taking off the bumper?
