what company in their right mind uses such tight tolerances between a moving the belt and the tube! not only do they sell an affordable fan with a pulley for a ridiculous price but on top of that it's not well engineered!

Sucks for the people with this kit but this is exactly why I wait soooo long to buy mine. No Beta testing for me!

Apparently there is/was a huge bearing counterfeit problem... with police raids on factories etc. and documented cases of failure analysis which concluded the prematurely failed bearings were not genuine

There is an entire global counterfeit bearing issue... that's absolutely ridiculous when you think about it

That doesn't mean that this is what happened, but its kind of crazy when you realize people are bootlegging bearings for profit

Had a brain fart what if we were to replace all the smooth sided pulleys and replaced with 6 ribbed pulleys on our kits and got another gates belt that is ribbed on both sides. This fix our rubbing or pulley seizing but would aid to keep those pulleys from wiggling and belts jumping off line

It's not a bad idea, but isn't a double ribbed belt thicker? may reduce the already thin clearance between the blower pulley and the intake pipe

also switching to the smaller boost pulley should allow more room on the right side of the intake pipe

well our length for the original 9psi pulley is 98 and 1/8 in diameter 13/16 wide

No rubbing on my pipe, small indent on the hood insulation, lots of clearance! Still have that ringing that I have not been able to find.

Don't want to over complicate the issue just yet. Gonna replace suspect pulleys, replace tubes re-align and keep and eye on it for now.

My guess is there will some updates to the intake tube and documentation following all of our recent posts etc.

Higher rotating mass as well. Slower spooling.
