What happens if we don't use these? I installed them 2 nights ago without these and noticed the top hat bolt (not sure of the name) will stick far past the dust boot cover. Is that the only reason to use the washers?

*I haven't driven the car since installing them*

I'm pretty sure the conical washer puts the weight of the car on the bearing race where it's supposed to be. Without it, the weight will be on the bearing cage, which is only meant to hold the balls and not meant to bear force.

This makes a lot of sense...but the main complaint from people who forget it in the Impreza world is noise.

I would imagine the noise is from the spring binding and unwinding as the bearing isn't able to work properly. Are the noise complaints similar to the WL com-c tophat noise complaints?

Yes. RCE has clearly states if you are on kw v3, tarmac II or tarmac 0 without aftermarket camber plates you need these washers.

Btw these things are costl at 8.40 a piece compared to the 5 bucks for crash bolts

I have been told otherwise. I was told in a vendors thread that I can use my stock top hats with no problems on the zeros.

I hope someone, say @Racecomp Engineering can clear this up for me.

My question is I still will use the stock top hats correct front and rear right? So I need to disassemble the stock shocks.

Trying hard not to buy.

Yes you reuse the stock top hats for the front and rear. Had my Tarmac 0's on for two days so far (about 200 miles) and I love them. Price for quality is really unmatched.
Hence why I am confused.
