So why are they expected to wait till they think they won the job to ask? That seems to me like a company that thinks they are the only game in town. Unless that is the case it's a huge red flag for me. I always ask about the money, maybe not my first question but sooner rather than later. Then again I usually have a good idea of what a job pays more-or-less before I even consider a job. Because if you don't know the price you can't afford it type mindset... Also I usually have 3 jobs at a time so even if I lost one I can shop around a bit and still make the bills. This cost me serveral pilot jobs... that I found out later I definitely couldn't afford!

I always open with a full description of the job and ask what their salary expectations are because of this very reason.

I only wish we could pay the price for the people we like. We have a maximum wage set by corporate and approved for our budget and even if the top candidate in the world wanted $1 over that we could not do it.

We are currently recruiting for a Safety person to work for me doing the day to day work in our Windsor plants so I can focus on the higher level stuff. This is an entry level position and will be a pretty sweet job but many of the applicants want a salary the same as me. In their defense when I first started I wanted the salary I have now as well I guess. We are not going to pick the perfect person, run them through the hiring process and then tell them we are going to pay them about 60% of what they wanted. Not fair to them and a waste of time for us.

Could not care less about what you made at your last positions I just need to know what you expect to get at this one. Even if the job was identical the company is different. There are directors and even VPs in my field in the food industry that make less than I do. It is the difference between automotive and the others and their pay at the others is meaningless.

This plane has now had issues with the autopilot system (how about the pilots do their jobs?) And the auto feather (or something. Again, can't you manually feather the throttle?)

The result, 1 scrubbed take off. Just what I want when I'm trying to get home after 3.5 weeks of hotel living

The equipment is most likely listed in its certification as required equipment for the plane to be airworthy. It isn't pilot choice.

Autopilot we can live without (depends on the opspec and WX maybe). The feathering thing could be catastrophic.

I got this info from another forum (different platform). Thought I'd drag it over since it has some 86 info. Isn't the 86 list pretty wonky?

The only thing wonky is that it shows 2018 prices for every other model but none for the 86.
The 17 prices are just for the normal MT and AT and the 860 MT and AT.

Has the 2018 pricing been released yet?

Well the Press Release is dated July 27 so I guess not. Very odd that they would not have included it with all the rest of the 18 prices. Surely they would know by now.

I'm working on getting some more info and another list.

Since apparently no one has had a random thought for 9 hours, I thought I would bring this up:
We all know about Murphy's Law, but do you know about Coles Law?

If this has anything to do with a law developed by our @Cole ......I'll pass on knowing what it involves .......
