Door Ding
I have less than 300 miles on my car and I am sure to park it in the back of the parking lot. I come out today to find the parking lot had filled in, and what do you know - someone dinged my door! It is a crease about 1/16" only (maybe even smaller), and it damaged the paint but not all the way down to bare metal.
I am furious!! Why can't others just respect people's property and be careful? Anyways.. anyone have any suggestions? It seems that since it is so small and since it is creased I might be SOL?

I'd talk to a paintless dent guy, and see what he can do.

Look up a PDR buy and then polish out the paint. Only you will know it's there.

Same thing happened to me. I got 2 door dings + a deep scratch in 1 day. I took it to a dent repair guy and he took care of both dings for $100, then I went to the dealership and bought touch-up paint for $15 and fixed the scratch myself. Looks better than it did when it was new.

Personally, I never touch the paint on my car anymore. I've tried DIY dent/scratch repairs in the past and I just don't have the patience/skills for it. It's very easy to mess up and make it worse than it was, unless you know what you're doing. I recommend looking for a PDR professional, it will probably set you back $100 or less.

Have you seen how fucking fat some people are these days? I really think parking spaces in America need to be wider. They have to open the door all the way and then squeeze out forcing their PT Cruiser's door into your paint. There is no escaping these people in parking lots. You can try to park in the back thinking that the long walk to the Walmart doors will cause them to give in but, alas they brought their scooters!

I left a VERY furious note on the car next to me. Some people are not considerate at all. Hell I was at Disneyland about to get out of my car when my passenger heard a thunk. The driver in the car next to me had hit directly above my wheel fender. I called him out on it and he said "oh nothing's there it's fine" and left without an apology. I told him to be more considerate and careful next time, and he simply ignored it. Now if I were an asshole of the highest order, I'd key his car, but I would never have the satanity to do that.

Kelvin- car dings are considered an accident and you can call the cops but then you must prove it was them

Personally, I don't think you should key it, but one good love tap deserves another. Just make sure you don't use your door because it'll mar your paint. |

It's a good thing I don't mind walking because I'm always at the end of the parking lot. Having said that, I'm sure I will accumulate a few dings here and there since my brz is my dd.
