This is the 32-bit base. Right click and download:

This is the list of ROM xml files. Choose yours or the one you want to use. Be sure to get the raw version:
https://github.com/TD-D/SubaruDefs/t...20standard/BRZ

I suggest updating to this ROM if you have a US manual. However, if you want to load or modify your stock ROM, you can choose whichever:

Thanks again! I'm currently on the A00C ROM, so I definitely wanted to start by flashing the B01C ROM. My first "tuning" experiment will then be to update the B01C ROM with a slightly higher rev limiter (+200 RPM or so) and to also make the rev-limiter more aggressive. In other words, make the high and low RPMs closer together. I AutoX a lot and hate the stock rev-limiter.

Or just get OFT stage 1 tune. Helps a lot and has a nice, soft rev limiter. Be sure to let EcuFlash fix the rom.

I'd vote for going with the OFT stage one. Supringly it made a pretty noticable difference in my car. And I probably have the world's least sensitive butt dyno, lol.

Watch the butt dyno word. @orthojoe might come here and start demanding dynos and laptimes. Then @icemang17 will excoriate you for modding your car. Shhhhh!

As you can see below it's completely legit, and it does a really good job of getting rid of the torque dip.

I'm genuinely happy you guys are enjoying our OTS tunes. Just one favor through, could you refer to them as "Openflash Tablet" or "OFT" tunes instead of "Shiv's" tunes because while I don't mind being given credit, it would help our business if some mention of our product was mentioned OFT sales is what keeps the map development machine going after all!

Love the butt dyno making more torque than horsepower, haha.

Alright, I'm new to EcuFlash and looking for a little help. I have read through tons and tons of posts and tutorials. Spent hours reading, but i'm not 100% sure and just want some clarification.
So i have a tactrix cable, a 2012 frs, the beta ecu flash installed, and i downloaded all the definition files.
This seems like a stupid question even to me, i think i already know the answer to it, i want to re-flash with a OTS Map, do i need to use the same ecu? Say i have ZA1JA01C.bin do I have to use a modified ZA1JA01C.bin or can i used a ZA1JB01C.bin already tuned? And would I be able to go back to the stock bin? It seems like i can but it seems like no one says yes specifically. More so, could i flash any FRS Rom on to my FRS as long as it is MT and US?

WARNING !!! Tectrix/ecuflash will let you flash any ROM to your car regardless of if is suitable or correct. It will READ any ROM but it will not WRITE one without a corresponding definition file.

It has no safeguards unlike the Open Flash Tablet which checks ROM type for you and is much more user friendly.

You will also need to install the Updated 32bitbase file for ECUflash else this may end in tears.

Assuming you have

1. Correct version of Ecuflash BRZ Beta
2. correct definition files for your ROM type and the alternate ROM type you want to flash
3. Correct 32Bitbase file for BRZ
4. update the firmware in you tactrix by going to the licensing tab in Ecuflash first.

Read you stock ROM first and save it as SRF and BIN to save as bin you need correct def files. you cannot write a ROM without matching Def files.

Open the ROM in ecuflash and make sure the tables look ok and readable.

Try writing you stock BIN ROM file first then move onto writing an alternate ROM.

I believe A01C and B01C ROM are comparable but you will need def files for both to be able to read and save you A01C ROM and write the b01C ROM.

Understand what you are doing and have a backup plan if it goes south.

You can use an 01c ROM already tuned, and any other ROM in that family of US manual roms. You can also tune your own, but there's nothing special about it. I'd use the most recent OTS/OFT tune of the most recent US manual ROM. So basically, the answer to your question is YES.

The only thing I do for safety is make sure that I can read the ROM before I write a new one. This just makes sure that the connection is secure. A couple of times, I had a bad connection and the read failed. Would have been bad during a write.

Thanks for both your quick replies.
I received my tactrix cable yesterday, and last night, i started with a friends 05 wrx, and flashed it with a stage 2 xpt tune. Everything worked out fine, using the bets ecu flash. Then I decided i would try the FRS. I read the rom, no issue, and then I wrote the stage 1 OTS map. The whole process took less than two minutes on the FRS. The only thing I thought was weirg, on the WRX I had an option to test write the ecu. The FRS had no test write option. The FRS was B00C, So i decided to stay with that rom for now.

Glad to see people are demystifying using the OP2! The only reason you don't have the test write on the FRS is due to the current beta version not have the proprietary Tactrix kernel implemented, which it is for the older roms (allows for test write, quicker uploads). It's not not yet implemented - in other words, it will be in later versions.
