Except the only model hovering around 4000 lb is the ZL1 (and prob a few convertible versions if you want to get nit picky).

Even the 4 cylinder and V6 models have balanced handling, and are 500-600 lb less than 2 tons. I'm not defending them, but let's not spread disinformation.

Balanced is not some code word for "handles well", although that should be part of it. It means exactly what it says on the label. I've driven a current generation Camaro (with 1LE track package) on track and on the street. It's a fantastic handling car, but I would never buy one because it's nearly impossible to see out of. It is not balanced, it is heavy and it is unfriendly to daily driving, even though it's a real performer on track.

Disinformation would be NOT considering a 4 or 6 cylinder 3400-3500lb car to be a fat pig.

Actually the 4 and 6 would be more balanced because the V8 puts the weight distribution of the Camaro at 54%-46% making the 'sporty' version even less balanced. Ironically it's the same weight distribution the cynics like to hate on the 86 for having, but never seem to mind when they go in for 'just buy a led sled cuz better' fake argument.

It really doesn't matter how pedantic anybody wants to be about curbweights with atypical muscle car configs. The fact is a 3500lb 4 banger is a fat pig. A 3600lb 6 is a fat pig. A 3800-3900lb V8 is a fat pig.

Mind you, that's even with GM shaving 200lbs off the previous gen Camaro post 2016. So even this 'lightweight' Camaro is only a few years old and not representative of the Camaro's more recent fat ass legacy.

Oink!! Oink!!

I don't mind if people prefer to have pigs as a pets over dogs, but don't pretend it's a Greyhound and try to convince me.

This, I agree with. Definitely getting a gray one. It is a decently priced BMW. Anyone got a hook up on an allocation in TX area?

Why do you have a problem with...facts?

V6 Camaro coupe weighs 3339 lb. V8 SS starts at 3685 lb.

Would I buy either? Probably not, I have no interest in big heavy cars. But at least quote the real figures, lest you confuse others.

I never get the 'perfectly balanced' thing. The 'ideal' 50/50 F/R balance everyone goes on about is way overrated. It changes the dynamics of the car but a lot depends on how it's set up and driven. True the further the weight is out to the front (past the front wheels) the more of a compromise you're in, but the Chevy V8's are pretty darned compact. Camaro is heavy, but not really a good example when you're critiquing driving dynamics and balance. They're actually pretty good if you can deal with the overall inertia of the car. And look at the 911 for weight bias - max traction on braking, and great rear traction on acceleration out of a corner. Brake deep, set the front end, turn and put the power down, works brilliantly if you know how to drive it.

I definitely think White is my favorite color on the Supra. It tends to hide some of the extremeness of the rear fender bulges and tames the body lines down a bit which I like.

I think they're shooting for first impressions with feel and drivability with this car. The average car buyer with more money than driving skill can hop into and test drive an A/T car with good feel/balance.

The more I see this car the more I'm disliking the front end. I love the ass end. I need to see one live.
