Mystery part? What is it?

Hey guys,

So my car has been making a rattling noise for the past couple of days only at a certain low rpm (1200 or so) hence most noticeable on stop and go's. Today I was cruising through a round-a-bout and heard something sliding around like a piece of metal and then this piece of metal fell off of my car.

I went back to pick up this piece that came off the car Looks like some kind of bracket that I assume was just sitting on top of the underbelly protector, sliding around and causing the rattling (rattling has now stopped lol).

Anyone know what this is specifically? The car feels normal so I would assume it's nothing too important hopefully...

Also the length of this piece is about 4 inches long and 1 inch wide.

Looks like the testicle fastener, although it may be smaller than normal having fallen off in Canada.

It's that.

Keeps the exhaust in place.

It shouldn't have fallen off though, did you mess around with the exhaust or transmission bushing recently?

Nope, my car was in the body shop for a bunch of body work cause I was t-boned so maybe they messed with something...

So I take it it's not a big deal if I don't put it back where it's supposed to be then? Good to know thanks guys!
