That is my only concern. I am not sure.. I would like to think its made in the same factory, to the same specs (other specs are identical) but maybe that is the cause of the cost difference?

One thing to note, Ca-Fi has two units that look identical. The 620800 and the 621000. The lower one has a resistive touch screen, 800MHz cpu, Android 2.2 and no Torque support. The higher one is the one I got. Judging by the price on the eBay one, I feel it might be the lower end model. If it has a resistive screen, you'll know which one it is. https://store.ca-fi.com/index.php?ro...product_id=103 Let me know how you make out. |

Playing devil's advocate here, I must commend CMOS for being helpful.
His argument (stating that Android/iOS devices can't be compared to PCs since they're all designed on PCs) got me investigating Android compiler/IDE apps. If it weren't for him, I would not have discovered AIDE, which is for all intents and purposes Eclipse on Android (they even share the same price tag ). I think I now have a new side project machine of choice |

So that unit on eBay is resistive. =( However, he said that I could return it within 30 days for a full refund (I'd pay the return shipping of course).
Still trying to decide what to do. |

The talk of PC vs. Android was pretty off topic for this thread. But shining light on what the real price of the Android HU is was definitely beneficial though. The unit in listed in this thread definitely seems worth $250 to $350 for what it does.

I understand that's a base Ca-Fi unit without the Ca-Fi software. The screenshots show different software than what I have on mine. The good news is, if we can get my unit rooted, we may be able to bring Torque and other goodies to more units! |
