We all know what everyone means when they type out the year in reference to cars (unless there's some specific examples I'm not thinking of)
I know there's a model year that isn't the calendar year (but no one references a car by calendar year) and no one refers to cars by fiscal year.

I type out MY17 all the time. There are many that get confused by calendar year and model year. There was just a thread on that very subject last week.
