I've heard a few times from people that they didn't realize Subaru's were 'a thing' until they moved here. Kind of like how some people view Mitsubishi's or Suzuki's, (or Kia/Hyundai about a decade ago), "People actually buy those?!?"

I'll admit there aren't a ton here, you wouldn't notice if you weren't looking, but it would be unusual to not see a few driving around.

Yep, I remember back in the summer of 1959, our family was visiting my uncle, who lived in downtown LA and he drove us around in his Pontiac convertible.

I'm willing to bet that a high percentage of WRX's and STI's are sold in the Metro Detroit area. They are literally everywhere. I see probably at least 4 STI's every day and tons of WRX's

It's easy to forget that Subaru is a tiny tiny vehicle manufacturer in the grand scheme of things when you live in one of the 4 places where they are most popular (NE, NW, CO, CA, Florida might make the list as well).

Seriously, they don't even rank in the top 20 (I don't think I could name 20 auto manufacturers off the top of my head), they make less than 1 million cars per year, there are literally 2x as many BMW's or Mercedes being made than Subaru's right now. 3x as many Peugot's, Renault's, or Suzuki's, when's the last time you saw one of those???

In my area Subaru is almost non existent. This has always surprised me since it is such a perfect vehicle for Canadian weather.

Nope. There are 30 Subaru dealers in Ontario. Over half of them are in or near Toronto. The rest are spread pretty thin.

No, Kingston. There is only 1 Subaru dealer here. I counted cars on my way to work one day. I counted 23 cars and 4 of them were Subarus. I exaggerated a bit but they are very common.
