2016 Norcal86 Year in Review w/ P&L Statement

Another year come and gone. As always thank you all first and foremost. The fact that this community is so awesome to be a part of as it grows and evolves. We as a board do everything to make sure we all enjoy ourselves so of course props to the board @Pwolf, @PMok, @MisterSheep, and @Pish for sacrificing your time to help everyone else enjoy theirs.

To start you can review our profit and loss chart for 2016 HERE

While we were having some “official unofficial” drives early with the dry weather Summer Kickoff really jump starts the car year. On June 11 100+ FRS and BRZ carrying more than 150 people came out to Lake Del Valle in Livermore for another great day. Once again we had amazing support from our sponsors Cusco USA, GT Radial USA, The Racer’s Line, Speed SF Track Days, Elite Motorsports, Meng Motorsports, Mann Engineering, Dublin Toyota, Hot Import Nights, I/O Port Racing Supplies, Quik-Latch Products, Life’s Good Racing, 86Drive, and Norcal 86Cup. In total we had our largest raffle yet with over $5000 in prizes! This growing support also allowed us to try out some different and upgraded food options this year as well! Write up and pictures here: http://86drive.com/2016/06/24/norcal...-kickoff-pics/

With the 86 heritage (and now the name officially with the MY17) we celebrate 86 day on August 6. This event has been huge from the beginning with over 100 cars showing up the first 2 years ON A WEEKDAY. This year it fell on a Saturday and having issues with public venues this year we teamed up with Mann Engineering to host a Dyno Day block party. Mann had discounted dyno runs, parts deals with SuperPro bushings and Delicious Tuning, and of course raffle prizes from said sponsors along with @AceHeader-MT. @ichitaka05 and FT86club were generous with a donation as well. @Pwolf claimed the free dyno pull by throwing down the lowest numbers of the day! The Burz, as his car is known, is on OFT and FT86SF catted headers had increased numbers but didn’t stand a chance against a field made up almost entirely of turbo and SC rides. With the street closed just for us parking was plenty and nobody had to leave with Rice Rockit food trunk providing us with awesome grub. Coverage of the day can be found here: http://86drive.com/2016/08/09/norcal...hoto-coverage/

86Drive came back in full swing this year with many weekend drives and opportunities to earn stars. It all culminated in the End of Summer meet to cash in the stars from drive, select meets, and track days for a chance to win prizes from Mann Engineering, The Racers Line, Ace Headers, Elite Performance, Scott Grasso Photography, Bay Area Auto Scene. And since it is about drives the EoS meet took place at The Junction Bar and Grill at the intersection of Mines Rd and Del Puerto Canyon. The Junction were wonderful hosts and it was exciting to see the renovations and updated menu under the new ownership. You can find pics of the day here: http://86drive.com/2016/10/23/photo-...6-celebration/

2016 marked the third season of the Cusco Winmax NorCal 86Cup Challenge, an amateur-level time attack series driving the FRS/BRZ platform. We are excited to see this series thrive and provide a safe environment for our community to learn their car's limit and with that were proud to serve as a sponsor for Norcal 86Cup in 2016 to show our support! Drivers from throughout California met at various racetracks including Thunderhill, Laguna Seca, Sonoma Raceway and Buttonwillow to test their machines and their skills to the limit. Congratulations to the 2016 NorCal 86Cup champions Kevin S. (Unlimited class), Wilson W. (Modified Class) Max P. (GT Radial Street class) for taking home the title and their new kick ass custom bottles from 702Laser. Thanks again to @MyRx and to @mkivsoopra for stepping up and helping facilitate Norcal 86Cup and making sure it runs as smoothly as possibly for all the competitors. You can find the new NorCal 86Cup website http://norcal86cup.mkivsoopra.com/ to see last seasons results and keep an eye on how the sponsors have kicked it into high gear this year so be sure to check it out.

While driving is fun but showing off your ride is as well and NorCal86 is well represented in the car show scene. Beyond the car show at Summer Kickoff we joined our friends at Lexus of Pleasanton for their Finesse summer car show for a little get together. For the more dedicated lot we had owners at big time shows like Blox Evolution, SpoCom, SF Auto Salon, WekFest, and more. Many of these events along with NorCal 86Cup have coverage on 86drive.com so go on through the blog and check it out.

Every year we also want to do our part and give back to the local communities. In December we got together in Sacramento for the Sac86 ToyDRIVE at Tea Culture to donate toys, games, and gently used clothes to the Sacramento Emergency Food Bank and Family Services. We had multiple cars stuffed with donations totalling over 300 items. A few weeks later we partnered with Dublin Toyota service department during our Monthly Meet-n-Greet to donate to Toys for Tots pushing our total to over 400 items donated between the two events. It is always good to give back and help our local communities that we are part of so the ToyDRIVE events are always one of my personal favorites so I hope you can make it out this year.

As always I want to close thanking the community once again. We do this all for you, so please talk to us. Let us know what you like, what you didn’t like, how you think something could be made better. But please keep in mind that this all takes a lot of work and manpower, so come by and see if we need any help at events as it's always appreciated.

Be sure to follow us on Instagram at Norcal_86 for event info and coverage throughout the new year.

This is awesome. I'm really glad i got to join you guys at the late half of 2016. I cant wait to do some more drives and go to more meets. And hopefully plan some more myself. The last one ended up being a lot of fun. 2017 is going to be awesome.

Didn't get a chance to join you guys in 2016 as I just got my car in January. I am looking forward to cruises, meets and shows this year though!
