I don't. I've seen the market crash repeatedly and wipe out people's savings. I have a good 401k with index funds that can make crazy %'s when the stock market is good with a nice matching contribution. That's it. I have a good job, and retirement is fantasy world. It's a terrible idea. The stock market is not supposed to be gambling, but the SEC only pretends to actually care about normal people.
I choose to live in an inexpensive apartment because people say,"buy a house," but then totally forget all the other cash and obligations that go into owning a house. I don't want to spend all my time and money fixing stuff that breaks, I'd rather just call the landlord and complain. Maybe a decade or two in my job might make me change my mind, we'll see. I have enough cash in the bank, and enough time to do most of what I want, but wish I could always have both weekend days off to go race, unfortunately that is not the case. No family, not interested, far too expensive. The number of married men that have told me to never get married no matter what is in the dozens. Don't see the point in planning for a future that may never come. |

yeah, i'm not convinced that houses are a much better investment than cars unless you start renting rooms out.

What trading experience do you currently have? If you have little to no trading experience or market knowledge you will find stock trading to be a very expensive learning experience.

A guy working in Subaru service told me that "Your car will gain value in time. It will be a classic just like Honda S2000." So buy as many twins as you can

Last financial year was good to me
This financial year I'm investing in boost Should see good gains in enjoyment Local market could get volatile once the Minister for war and finances discovers the change in the investment strategy We're going on a bear hunt, I'm not scared

Oh... This might be a useful resurrection. As far as my retirement investing, I think I'm pretty solid: max 401k contribution with employee match, yearly IRA contributions, and a solid emergency fund.
My only other monetary focus is my car fund, which has been gaining steam a lot this year thanks to getting turned into a contractor at work. They paid me severance AND a signing bonus to keep the same job with the same pay. I killed my student loans with it and banked what was left. I'm looking into dropping those funds into one of those online savings accounts, the ones with 2-3% returns. All my research says they are safe, but the guaranteed returns remain suspicious. Anyone know if these things are a good idea?
