Rumor of canceling next Gen BRZ/86
Surprised no one's posted this. Rumor has it that there won't been a second gen of the twins. God I hope that's not true...

Even getting a new Genesis coupe is off the table since 2016.

The article reminds me of rumors about supra, when it was in development, that it will be electric or hybrid
Japanese journalists: "I know a guy who knows a guy who drinks sake with someone from toyota-guy, AND HE sad that twins is dead". Maybe he meant someone anime, but .... was too much sake ... |

Well, even if the 86 doesn't see a MK2 I'm good with it. I wasn't planning on buying a second one anyway. There's only once in my entire car buying history I've bought the same model twice in a row, and that was the family hauler.
Life's too short...there's too many optionsl

Look at the bright side. That just potentially makes our cars more valuable.

There weren't in the category as you described it. I'm more "platform fluid" than that though. My cross shopping list for new cars pretty much covers the gambit.

But less new products may be made for them since they'll be a dead platform.

Not a lot of new stuff made for them now really. Even the 17+ models don't have the aftermarket support that the preface lift did.

I bought the "same" model for three cars in a row with my Lancers that I had before the FRS and will never do it again. They went from great to really good to "What the hell is this junk" as they "improved" over the MYs. Not interested in going that route again. Quote:
I have zero brand loyalty now. Mitsubishi ruined that concept for me for the rest of my car buying life (which is admittedly short). in two more years I need one more throw away car before I spend the bog money on my retirement vehicle. Usually I would have been replacing the FRS this year but there is nothing I want to replace it with so it get's to hang in there until the grandson is 19 and it goes to him. God only knows what I will get in 2021.
