Well at least the rear of the CR-Z was high.

The roofline in the SF-R would make for an interesting seating position.

Hi,

Thanks for the link! Also see Engineering Explained where he compares the two & actually likes the 86 more. His reasoning makes sense, at least to me. Sorry I don't have the direct link.

Looks like the 86 keeps the CG crown after all.

And it goes on to say that they don't believe that's enough to make up the difference.

LOL He says NOTHING about the 86. "There is a team working on it" "I don't know" and my very favourite "We are here to talk about Supra so shut up about the 86" (I added the last part).

These cars must be a marketing nightmare to try to justify certain things with PR spin.

Getting called out for stuff proven false (ish) must give them headaches due to all the 'history' and 'legacy' BS they have to keep trying to link.

Mate, I never said he did say anything much about the 86.

It's still a good interview. I like his answer to: "Will there be a turbocharged 86?" The Supra

NAh didn't think you did. I was just piggy backing on your post not slamming it. Almost every word he says has been OK by the marketing department anyway. He can not let things just slip. That interview is interesting in how some of the click baits twist his responses though. Notice how when he is struggling for words he just sort of nods his head and says "yes" alot? He isn't really agreeing with them he is just sorting buying time like we would say "ummm" or something along that line. If you asked the right leading question and he just nodded and said "yes" you could then report that "Tada said ...."

Fair enough. It's hard to tell tone by text sometimes.

I think two interesting things he said, a manual Supra and every generation of a sports car should be an evolution on the last, like Porsche. I think that's a positive for the 86/BRZ, as he's in charge and that's his bench mark. That's pretty exciting. I hope they give some clue/direction at the Tokyo Auto show next month.
