Thinking out loud ...

Thinking out loud, or rather, just in text form..... What if we put some OEM fa20DIT Pistons and rods in our FA20's?
Benefits would be turbo spool efficiency, we would be able to run 15-20lbs of boost and that would be a lot better for most of these turbo kits.
Would probably be stuck only running e85 though I would imagine.

I'm going to give this a shot, I have a couple spare FA20's and out of all of those I'm sure I have enough good parts for 1 complete runner. I'm a Subaru tech and would be buying oem bearings, rods, Pistons, at my discount... Being that those parts are proven to be good parts, at least in the WRX.

Anybody done it already? This is completely just a "what if" post, so I'm open to healthy discussion but if you have snobby "you shouldn't do that blah blah blah" comments, please keep them to yourself. This just seems like a fun project that I have the means of doing for extremely low cost, that I have the skills and knowledge to be able to complete. Doing it either way, and will update this post when I start the project.

Anyway there's my idea, healthy discussion is welcome just don't come in here acting like some of these children from the Facebook enthusiast group 🤣🤣🤣 cheers, frz86-friends!

It's already been done; not much gains unless you're stuck with pump gas only.

What is there to discuss? Is extra machining required or something?
