you sir have obviously never been in a GTR or Vette with a pro going 10/10ths. both cars are absolutely viscous and unforgiving at the limit and to generalize experience based on the fact that it's an auto trans is just stupid. there really isn't that much more experience required to drive a manual either for the average joe. for high performance driving the gear change is at the bottom of the skill requirement because there are so many other things going on that deserve more focus. whether you step on a clutch or flick a paddle is not what's important.

Sports car and super car are two different segments and not interchangeable. Fr-s, 370z=sports car.

That's what probably drove Toyota to remake the Money for Nothing song, "I want my MPG!"

Are you seriously suggesting that Honda never sold out? The CRZ is a hybrid. Point, set, match.

The reality here is that AUTO's are getting better and better. Most performance auto transmissions are faster than human capabilities and will redline the same as well. Manual transmission is more about the heritage of driving I suppose.
The GTR only comes in Auto. End of discussion. |

I personally was very surprised at the responsiveness of the Automatic when I had the chance to drive one.
If you notice, most manufacturers of high performance cars, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, hell even Lexus now with the LFA, have moved over from the traditional manual gearbox, because the car has proven to be faster with the transmissions, allowing the drivers to have a better experience when pushing the cars. For this car, I wouldn't buy the Automatic, but that doesn't mean I don't think it should be offered. Like most people are saying, everyone should have the right to a choice. The automatic in this car has been highly praised with keeping the driving experience fun. With the rev-matching downshifts and very responsive paddles, I believe the automatic of this vehicle deserves praise. Don't compare your Camry's automatic to the FR-S automatic.

Funny, last I checked all of the internals were the same across all 3 brands. I don't know how changing a brand name will change actual parts and performance of a vehicle. Wait! you mean to tell me, if I slapped the words LFA on a camary I would now have the performance of a LFA for 24k?!?! EUREKA GUYS WE ARE ON TO SOMETHING! Yes, I know what a Dual Clutch is. Your argument is flawed because the SCION has paddle shifters, and can switch faster than a manual.
