~2500 miles now, maybe close to 2700 and I can report the chirping has definitely gotten louder. Have not yet gone in for the TSB, but I could clearly hear it over my radio this morning and it was ANNOYING.

Mine has been chirping for over 2000km.

I live in Australia though, and Toyota Australia has not recognised this as a fault, even though when serviced the technician has identified it as an issue. They can not fix it unless they have official word/procedures from Toyota.

I went from 1k to 7k miles with the chirp until the first TSB attempt. It would get a bit quieter with cooler weather, but mostly due to different load on electrical system and hence different rpms; and due to harder driving being required to properly warm up the system. It's was around freezing here just before my second pump install, but I'd get it to chirp every time after an enthusiastic drive. If I drove like a grandma (or in heavy traffic) I would not get the chirp with cool weather.
Even after a full day of WOT-filled AutoX last month, no chirps. It used to chirp from enthusiastic drives that went over 4k RPM.

Just over 1k miles since the fix and no chirps. Will be at the track this weekend, will report back if any change.

So, just got a call from my svc manager, he claims that Scion has released a video with the TSB that has the sound my car is making, and that they are calling it normal. Yaay squeaky new car.

They can kiss future sales goodbye. What an outrage.

So they showed me the video, and I showed them that the rest of the bulletin says that a noise as loud or louder than the video demands replacement of the system. They are reopening my case, and I will hear back by Friday.

Both the service manager and his manager seem on my side, actually. They admitted that they would not have been happy if they were me. I keep reminding myself that this is a first year car, and that it is still the most fun to drive of anything I have ever been able to own. I love my FR-S. I just don't love the problems I am having. So long s both the manufacturer and dealership treat me respectfully, I will stick with the fight.

Just broke 1000mi, just shy of 30 days now, chirpy crickets pretty loud now, I heard it this morning at stop light over radio. When I first noticed it I could only hear it in garage.
Car runs fine, I'll make appointment to take it in sometime soon.

You know what, you should get a video of a car with decent mileage that has no crickets and tell them this is what a proper running car should be like.

Can you get them to send you the video (or put in on your usb drive) so you can post so we can see it?

10k miles here. I have had the chirp since 5k or so. Got it fixed by the dealer last week, without any hassles. So far, it has not returned.

Which dealer and how long did it actually take? I spoke to Bob Baker in Carlsbad and they were just starting to work on their first car, wondering if it was yours.
