Happy Anniversary! I've heard nice things about Boise and the surrounding area. Take some pics for us.

Oh! Pro tip I've been meaning to tell you. Use sport mode on your phone camera. Sport Mode = Digital Image Stabilization

I'll give it a shot. Here is our room. Sorry no light, wife is out cold. Cool little suite, nice soaking tub.

One day we are going up to McCall. Tomorrow going up to Bogus Basin ski resort, then downtown for lunch.

What vehicle did you drive up there?

Looks to be comfy accommodations.

Have a fun getaway.

(I didn't think it was possible to take that crappy of a picture with modern day cameras/phones - )

As @humfrz would say "reminds me of a story...."

My Father owned a roofing company, and I worked for it from the time I was about 10 until 20 (labor laws being a little less stringent when it comes to family).

We didn't use harnesses on anything. Usually we just used 2x4s and bravado. This of course led to many interesting stories. Mine follows....

When I was about 16 I was on a two story 8 on 12 pitch roof in the early morning dew. The bundle of shingles on my shoulder decided to spew loss gravel behind me that I didn't notice. The combination of the damp tar paper, scattered gravel and youthful carelessness got the better of me as I walked down the roof. I slipped, fell, managed to turn myself around to land face down and drove my fingers between the 1x6 sheathing (it was an old farm house) to stop myself, breaking my wrist in the process.

Had I slipped off the roof, I would most likely not be typing this, as I was directly above several pipes coming out of the heating oil tank below me.

My Father helped me down the ladder, complaining all the way that I should have been "more damn careful" but I could tell he was as upset as he ever would get. We wrapped it in an ace bandage and my Mother was called to pick me up and take me to the hospital.

To add insult to injury, as my Mother was driving me to the ER, we got sideswiped on my side of the car in a traffic circle. Fortunately it was minor. My Dad's comment when we told him later "So, you unwrapped his arm and claimed it happened in the accident, right?" Of course, neither of us had thought of that.

My Father's crews seemed to be blessed with that type of luck. A couple of other examples:

When running chalk lines (used for shingle placement to keep them straight) left to right on the roof we had a guy who was walking backwards and not paying attention, walk off the end of the roof at the peak. It was a ranch so that was about two stories up. Fortunately he fell into a sand pile for the brick masons and was unhurt, except he did (literally) need to change his pants. I saw it happen, it was like one of those Willie Coyote thing where it looked like he just hung there for a second (I'm sure it was just my mind).

My Father was walking across a new construction site where the carpenters had put down the underfelt (tar paper) on the roof and unknown to us papered over the chimney hole in the middle of the roof ridge. He stepped right through it and caught himself with both armpits on the joists below (that had not been framed around yet) which left him dangling over a three story foyer.

Then there is the guy who snuck behind a house to take a leak and managed to find the electric fence around the pigpen. He was out for about two weeks as I recall.....
