Adding/Switching to BOV for Supercharger
I searched around the forums and did not come across any thing that really answered my question.
I have a JRSC on currently and I want to add a Greddy RS BOV to the system. I have a HKS SSQV (2 or 3) available right now till I can buy the Greddy. My question is what would be the process add a BOV that vents to the atmosphere? I assume I would need to find a proper spring (for HKS) and the Greddy is a turn dial?? What are the implications of changing the system? I have an understanding that I am changing the air flow in the system and it can interfere with the performance as I am taking air away from the system that the MAF has already calculated into the equation. Is that correct? Would I need to have my car's tune adjusted or can I just install it and be on my way? Please feel free to add anything else I am missing. Thank you in advance. This is more a cosmetic thing than a performance modification. |

I have a tail Q50 mm with supercharger spring and it’s great. It’s a 2psi spring rate.
Hope that helps. Erik Last edited by EchoHotel; 07-08-2018 at 08:16 PM. |

Thanks for the tip, I searched through all 17+ pages my search/s came up with and didn't not find what I was looking for. I saw 3 of your posts which one basically states to not do it it can damage your SC.
The other two I saw was your posts that were talking about updating the diverter valve to a metal one vs the OEM plastic one. |

Pg 42. 308, 309.... look like good places to start in the JRSC owners thread. I just did a 5 second Google search and quick perusal.

I saw those. The conversation was asking about putting on a BOV, the asked why would someone want to. Followed up with it’s a BPV essentially the same thing. The next 5 pages I went through did not continue this conversation. Thank you though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

There are pictures and quite a bit of conversation concerning adding a Bov, direct replacement part numbers and also some interesting comments from @CSG Mike

You can just weld it onto your charge pipes.
Probably before your air straightener in your case. You WILL need a re-tune. |
