FT-86 SpeedFactory Catted UEL Header

We're proud to announce the FT-86 SpeedFactory Catted UEL Header. Working with a local fabrication shop we have come up with a prototype UEL Catted Header for the Scion FRS and Subaru BRZ.

This is a 304 Stainless Steel piece that is hand made here in the USA (Iowa). Runners are 1.75" in diameter and everything flows into a 2.5 inch cat, and right back out the other side at 2.5". CEL issues should be a thing of the past with this guy.

There are plans to make a catless version as well, but starting with a catted version is something we wanted to do especially since there are so few options.

Videos tomorrow on sound. Dyno information to follow.

Misc Info as we go along:
Stock Header = 20.8lbs
FT86SF UEL = 13.0lbs

Dyno:
Car was completely stock. Only mod was the Catted UEL. No tune, no other exhaust bits, no intake, stock as a rock on 91 Octane.

This and performance gains with and without tune. I am a newbie, can you install this type of mod and use stock tune without problems?

That's the reason it's catted! Now the only reason to get a tune with these headers is for performance gains and not to have to get rid of the CEL. If it's as nice as my V1 catback is, then this should be an amazing product. I have no doubt it will be great.

I'm interested in the sound. Those are more equal than unequal if that makes sense. I'm gonna guess they will sound close to stock. Maybe louder.

That is what I assumed they were talking about, I'm trying to keep from taking any bites that are a bit more than I can chew at one time. Definitely glad to see an option in the works!

They are hand welded, not welded by a machine, which is why they look "messier". I can assure you that their welds hold up pretty darn good, as can others. =)

With that said,

Yeah, sorry. Hand welded or not, those welds look like crap. Coming from the cycling world, I see hand welded bikes all the time and the welds always look like a stack of dimes.

Also, anyone else see a crack above the weld in the collector?

I like ft86speedfactory but this could use a little more polishing before you release.
