Question brake hardware ... for primarily track/autox car...

Once again replacing pads and rotors on the front of my '13 brz. (G-Loc r10's again too)

My question is related to hardware, looks like the last time I didn't bother using the thin metal plate between the pads and the caliper pistons... good or bad idea?

Car gets driven to the track or event and back, apart from that very little street use at the moment, rest is just track or autox.

I ditched those plates after the first brake pad change.

I'd get some titanium shims over the stock ones if you're wanting to minimize heat transfer to the pistons.

Guessing i just ditched them in the first place because I expected them to add more to the noise that the r10's already make on the street...
