We could make it a special meet. Everyone shows up with wrenches. 5 minutes at a time to see what you can get.

Hey everyone.
Just picked up my WRB BRZ... absolutely love it. Can't believe I didn't pick one up earlier. Can't wait to get started on making it my own.

Hi Guys,

Hate to be a downer on this thread, just wondering if anyone has had any transmission issues and had luck getting attention at a dealer in Ottawa. Transmission is superb except for a grind/crunch going into 4th at higher rpm. I was at Tony Graham yesterday and they said they couldn't replicate it. Which is hard to imagine unless they were babying it. Guess I'll have to go with them.

Posted in this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...=1#post2667748. Just looking for some local advise.

P.S. I love going into Ottawa as I always see some nice FRS/BRZs. There was an Ultramarine at Tony Graham with some sort of lip kit on, nice looking ride. And the RS2.0 they have in the showroom isn't hard on the eyes either.

I have the same issue as you and was unable to get it fixed at any dealers in Ottawa or London.

My 4th gear is a pain in the ass to shift into gear at anything near redline, makes this ungodly crunch/grinding as it slips in. I was never able to figure it out.

Adding shift and trans bushings makes the grind disappear. Relatively cheap fix.

That's kind of what I figured. You always hear stories about people having amazing luck with dealers. I never do, once I got a free hat...that's about it. I guess it's just so easy to dismiss issues with manual transmissions as driver error. The thing with mine tho, I don't even need to be near redline. At 4000 rpm I get the grind, sometimes even as low as 3000 rpm. Like if it was once in a while or just when I was really pushing the car i'd forget about it but it happens quite often because 3-4 is my passing/highway merging zone. My two favourite activities in the car lol. At 5k/6k/7k rpm in 3rd, I could push the clutch, yell out "clutch is in!" and bring it back into 4th and get the grind. So I know it's not my footwork to blame.

I'm going to go back to the dealer and try to at least get them to acknowledge something is there. Then we'll see. I'd be happy with trying some good fluid and maybe some bushings as OrangeGuitar suggested. I just want there to be a record of an issue prior incase it gets worse or I can't remedy it with aftermarket parts.

Cheers
Callum

Hi that ultramarine FRS could have been mine. I still take it there for oil changes. I was there two weeks ago - cf lips, shiny TSW rims.
Cheers

It looked a bit more stock than yours, stock wheels forsure. I just noticed the colour matched lips, I say lips but it was more of a skirt kit. Nice car tho BTW.

FRS saved me this morning. Broke my phone last night at work (cracked screen and LCD bled out) and it's my only phone, no landline at home. So I sat in my car with a coffee calling around on the bluetooth to see who can fix it.

It's going to be a freak show in the parking lot, with cops pulling anything over.
Not sure if I'll go.
@Pbrown would you go?

You really think cops know about the one showing of the movie? Doubt it.
