So it begins. FWIW: Intercity owns bones-- great service, car was thoroughly inspected at both ends of the trip and not a thing was done to it. Virgil, the driver of this truck is a total gangster who's moved all kinds of priceless artifacts and is a complete perfectionist about moving cars (he even unscrewed the antenna to prevent the draping from ballooning / bouncing around and swirling the paint). These guys were highly recommended on Rennlist and my experience with them was fantastic: if you need your car moved and don't want to have to deal with filth and damage at the other end, just spend the money and contract with these guys: they rule. this...
Installed my Perrin Catback resonated. I cannot imagine the un-resonated. I want to Headers back eventually and this is plenty loud enough. I get zero drone too. I have to do some more hanger/S-Pipe tweaking as the left tip is a tad bit more out than the right. Also installed an aftermarket OEM rear diffuser. Then found out the stock pipes fit inside the car too. |

Well, just got back from putting another 30mi on the clock (~290 now, 710 to go ). Tried to go to the DMV (the CO ones "don't do" appointments, the cock-gobblers) and do the old "pull a ticket, come back in an hour and a half and hope your number is just about up" trick. Of course they were about ten numbers past mine when I got back at ~2:40, and they only do VIN verifications until 3pm; getting my plates will have to wait til next week, I guess.
Initial thoughts (these 30mi were the first in my car): - Power isn't overwhelming, but it doesn't feel slow. It feels like something you'll be able to go WOT in all the time: me likey. - Steering is extremely good (maybe a tid light on weight but it's got good feel and I like the sensitivity) - Ride seemed a little harsh, but as soon as I let some air out (tires had gone from 35 to 40 all around due to altitude change) the ride felt much more compliant. Once I get past 1k mi and can play with the car a bit I'll probably revisit the pressures but the recommended ones seem fine for the timebeing. The car feels quite nicely suspended actually, though I'll have to wait for a good backroads thrashing to weigh in with a final verdict. - Brakes are great for street use. I know they melt on the track, but around town the pedal feels unusually solid; the brakes have some heft to them and are very progressive compared to typical stock brake setups for road cars. - This car wants to be sideways so badly its un-fucking-believable. I, too, watched that Clarkson review, but I mean my god-- just playing with it a little around town you can kick the nannies on at like 15mph. I was a bit over-tired today and was just driving around Denver's crowded, boring grid of streets, so I didn't even play with sport mode. I just left everything on and hit the same corner a couple of times to play with the car a bit-- the car doesn't seem to want to bite you, but it seems like it will be super easy to get sideways if you feel like it. I can't wait to have the full tach and rested senses to play with - Keyless entry and push button start take some getting used to. I keep reaching my hand in to the steering column when I get in :P - I think I'm going to enjoy this car a great deal. It's just so playful. I'm really glad I set my up-shift flash AND beep to 3800 rpm or there's just no way I could actually abide by these break-in procedures, lol. It's literally the most important nanny :P |

1. Hit 1014 miles on the odo as I rolled onto the road course.
2. Punished one apex cone for its crimes (we did it together...awwww). 3. Got her first minor bruise on the lip (see #2). 4. Reaffirmed my choice to get wheels/tires/brakes all upgraded next week. 5. Gave her a hug. |

LED Lights from F n' A Automotive
I had some time back been sucked into what was advertised as plug and play LED Fog Light bulbs for my BRZ, it turned out to be an absolute joke, that and a few other things have made me skeptical of internet purchases as I have said on here before.
However once again I sought out F n’A Automotive and they got me some true plug and play super bright LED Fog Light Bulbs for the BRZ. They also got me plug and play LED Turn Signal bulbs, Red for the rear Amber for the front and the flasher module for LED Bulbs. F n’A Automotive sold all of this at a fair price and delivered them ASAP Anyway got everything today installed it all in about 30 minutes and it looks awesome. F n’A Automotive also had supplied my rear fog light set up awhile back. You out there looking for lights and related items simply can’t go wrong with these guys. I took a couple of pic’s with the flashers going, best I could tonight, its pouring rain outside but you’ll get the idea. |
