Emblem swapping illegal?

Someone once told me that emblem swapping was illegal bc the emblems on the car no longer matched the registration, therefore it's the wrong registration for that car..

Is that true ? I don't want my frs to be all gt86 and get a 700$ ticket for wrong registration

doubtful, but it's likely on a state by state basis. We get lots of Honda rebadged as Acuras here in NC, but I've no idea what TN is like.

My registration might say Toyota Scion or something similar. But I'd rather be sure than cost me.

I got pulled over once in my first car, a 91 Toyota mr2. He asked for the paper work so I gave it to him, he came beck saying I had the wrong registration ( I accidentally threw the good one out and kept the old one) it was just out of date and told me in the state of tn that is a 700$ ticket =O. I just dont want another thing like that happening

I wouldn't believe it. In that case, wouldn't repainting the car another color, or getting it wrapped, be illegal as well?

I've heard of guys having their cars repo'd because their emblems weren't matching their paperwork. The name for the offense is Dontbelieveeverythingyoufuckinghear: citation number 420-69.

Don't do it if you love your car.

I don't see what's wrong with the Scion badges. Everyone already knows Scion is a Toyota unless they're just completely retarded in the first place and have no idea what your car is either way its badged. Save your money.

There's a guy on my campus who has a geo with Porsche badges. It's been there for all four years and he hasn't had any problems.
