Another update. Adjuster called this morning. I managed to inflict $16,700 worth in damage and labor. Good news is that it would have to hit $18,000 to be a total loss. I'm sending him my purchase invoice tomorrow so they can reach an official decision, but it looks like my car will live to see another day

Wow, that's a bit more than I expected from when I first looked at the pictures. I was thinking 13-14K tops.

Pray a supplement is written. I would not want to own an FRS with $16k worth of damage. Regardless of how great it was repaired, it will never be the same.

Well, I'm hoping to drive this thing till it dies, so hopefully I'll be the only one who will have to own "an FRS with $16k worth of damage"

And as long as I stop doing stupid shit, maybe it'll actually last me till the engine gives out. Here's hoping.

Well, technically you'll own one with "$16K worth of repairs". The damage was free, well except what it cost you in beating yourself up. :happy0180:

Glad to see you're able to get past it and move on. Sounds like it will live to race (on a track this time) another day.

This is kinda why I'm planning on picking up a second hand (spare) 86 in a few years, one that I don't care as much if the worst happens. It'd be such a waste having a car like it and constantly being scared of scratching it.

Seems like a roadside IED which has nothing to do with what that video was about.
