This is the one I have. Still on sale, $215 shipped. Downside is it takes hours to print the parts I have done. About an hour and a couple beers worth of assembly required. Material is less then 20 bucks for 1kg of PLA. The parts in the picture is less then 40 grams. Some of the parts I have built our CAD guy has exported from Solidworks. The rest I have done using the free Autodesk web based program tinkercad.com and converting to G-code in Cura. Both are free.

I started prototyping some stuff and our GM asked me how much a nice one is. He was thinking $10K. His jaw about hit the floor when I told him $800-1200 bucks.
Printers use g code?

Yeah. You need to convert the model to .STL when exporting the file. Then the .STL goes into what they call a "slicer" program which allows you to set some print perimeters like layer thickness and infill(density). Then it exports to g-code for the printer.

Could it be G string code?

Just spent two days (22 hours) doing a Lean Workshop on our scrap loading at work. For those that don't know Lean is the "let's change the name so we don't get sued" version of the Toyota Production System for eliminating waste (time, scrape, costs, etc). This system works well in Japan since it is very tied to their culture but when Americans and Germans get their hands on it it turns into a nightmare really fast!
We had 12 people from plants all across North America there to "help" us on the project.
I had already pulled all this together two years ago but since the ROI on it was two years not the one year that corporate wants I could not get the capital. Started off the day yesterday presenting my proposal and giving the team all the data I had amassed. They immediately looked at it and deemed the plan no good and the data questionable so we spent the next 11 hours gathering up all the info again. Today they spent all day putting together recommendations and a proposal to help with reducing the time spent handling the waste (we fill two transport trailers full of cast iron chips a day) and submitted it to me. I totally agreed with every word they said since it was IDENTICAL to my original proposal right down to the last detail. So, all in all I just spent two days getting a team of 12 people to redo what I had done and claim it was their plan. I AM NOT USED TO THAT HAPPENING!

On the plus side the high up corporate crowd loves thee workshops so I will probably get automatic approval for my project even if outside the ROI envelope (which is actually why I pitched it as a workshop in the first place).

Albertsons has senior day first Thursday of the month. 10% off. Looked like a 60 year high school reunion. Love the savings.

They sell seniors? Can you get scratch and dent ones for a bigger discount?

It absolutely does, especially when it passes like a little whiff of incense.

Ahhh….yes, but NOW it will be successful because you have overcome the NIHS (Not Invented Here Syndrome). In other words, now the plan is THEIR plan, so it will work.

For example, mrs humfrz wanted to order a turporken roll for our holiday meal. After she explained what it was, I nixed the idea because it sounded lame, cooking a turkey breast and pork loin together, plus it was her idea.-

But then I got to thinking, hmmm...turkey and pork, something for everyone for our picky granddaughters. So, I told her to order one. Now that it was my idea, it will work. -
