Ever see anyone come to a DEAD STOP on a highway when they had no clue where they were going?

I have. How are people getting licenses this day and age?

Was with a friend at a little after 12 at night. Came up to a Y in the highway (no one on the road aside from a car about 2 car lengths to the left in front of us. Driver then slammed breaks, got in front of us, came to a dead stop, paused, then drove slowly to the shoulder.... wtf made that driver think that was ok? thank god no one was behind us.

Went to SpeedZone today! For those that don't know, it's a Go Karting place here in Dallas. They have this new Drift Karting Track that is real slippery and you run slick tires...

Goddamn, I felt like Ken Gushi!!

It was basic power over drifts (with the occasional brake lock up when there was not enough power) and then oppo-lock and throttle out! I swear, I never have had more fun drifting, mostly because there was no fear of crashing and ruining a huge piece of metal money. Crashing was actually really fun!!!

I went with @azspd02 and a bunch of other family and friends, as it was kind of a last hurrah for us before I move away to Illinois for college (Which will be Tuesday!)

Damn I'm gonna miss Dallas. It may seem boring to most, but I love the hell out of it.

I have seen this happen several times(besides for deer crossing) but I kind of know how they feel. When you first start driving and have a horrible sense of direction, mostly from a previous disinterest in navigation and driving in particular, then getting lost tends to panic a newbie driver. When you're still learning the rules of the road, things tend to get thrown at you pretty fast. It's a dangerous combination and you either sink or swim. I got lucky many times.

Never seen anyone come to a dead stop, but yea stuff happens really fast on the road for a new driver, I feel lucky that I never got in an accident on the highway when I was not comfortable with driving on the highway. Changed lanes REALLY close hitting to people many many times.

EDIT: Hey what do you know, someone I know is buying an FRS! He says the waitlist is super long, but he should get one in a few months. AT unfortunately...
BUT HE SAID I COULD DRIVE IT

In regards to new drivers, whenever I missed a turn or was confused, I was conscientious and just kept going, pulled over when safe (or got off at next exit, and then regained my bearings. Going from 60-0 on a road where people travel 60+mph would not be my first thought.

It's different if you're trying to avoid an accident or a deer. If you're lost, you should not slam brakes in traffic, especially coming to a dead stop IN LANE, where you put others' and your lives at risk. I know there were only 2 cars on the road in my case, but still. Why? That could have ended MUCH worse.

There was a place near me that had electric carts. If you were 17+ and had a license, you could get the "faster" carts. I forget how fast they were governed, but compared to the slower carts, my god they were faster. Every turn was a drift, even though you were told not to do so. it made it better that every cart handled differently (due to how the carts were driven/maintained), so some were "better" for it (worn rear tires, etc..). it was so much fun!

Awesome.

I find it funny that all the people going on about fun and handling never gave two shits about the Spyder when it was available. Guess they need the media to tell them fun is good.

Reality is vanity plays a huge role, as evidenced by all the 'stancing' already going on with the FR-S. And straight line speed.

Enjoy what is arguably the best driver's car Toyota ever made. No matter what people say about the twins.
