We get a few snow falls here in South Jersey so most of the time the roads are dry. I've been running Michelin Primacy All Seasons and they suck. I'm glad they are worn and needing replacement.

I'll post my impressions this winter with the AS3s. (BTW, the Continental DWS was my second choice)

Do the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ break traction progressively like the stock Primacy HPs?

I'm still debating another set of stock tires or something a little different.

Do you see low temps or snow? is it a dd? Do you care how long it lasts?

I had Continental DWS 06 tires on my previous FR-S and they handled fantastically.

I had the stock tires then Conti DWS and now the car is headed for its third set of AS shoes. The Conti was FAR superior to the stockers in every aspect, especially comfort, ride quality, cold dry pavement and wet handling. The best ride quality has been the Conti EWC but after 3 winters and the majority of this summer they're completely worn out.

I'm torn as to what qualities I'm looking for in this upcoming next set of tires but I've pretty much decided that the car won't see much snow at all this winter because I'll just suck it up when it's snowing and drive the Durango even though it gets horrible mpg's and is filled with ChryCo gremlins that drive me crazy. I think I want great wet weather traction and tracking, reasonable ride quality, good mpg and good cold (dry) pavement traction in that order.

I run AS3+'s on my Focus RS and will probably stick to them full-time unless I do a track day, then I'll toss the stock wheels/PSS's on. The AS3's are 9/10 of what the PSS is in the warm, dry or wet. And they're better/safer in the cold. I've ran them in a few inches of snow with no issues, but the RS is a snow champ.

I'll likely throw a set of AS3+'s on my BRZ once I kill the Primacy's, which I intend to do quickly.

I had the AS3+, it's still a pretty stiff tire which picks up bumps in the road and it's not quiet either, they got really loud around 4/32nds. They have a 45k mile warranty and I only got around 23k out of them.

Get the Michelin Premiere A/S, they're quiet and smooth.

Really like the Premier A/S but They only lasted 2 years, and I already need new tires. Probably going to try the AS3+, if they are loud I will just turn up the music.

I have General G-Max AS-05. I am planning to buy again if they are still 50% less than Michelin AS3 when they are worn out.

They have a mileage warranty, so go back to the place that sold them to you or a authorized michelin dealer and they should pro-rate you on your new set.

I have the Premier AS on a different car. These tires are fantastic, made me felt invincible in both rain and snow. It's also been a year for me as well and I think over 15,000 miles. Still looks brand new and I do drive hard on them so something must be up with your set.

@BRZnut I've been very happy with the Bridgestone Ecopia tires I replaced my Primacies with, and just bought my second set after 60,000+ miles on the first.

Details on a link from the OP in my owner's journal.

They do make a marginal difference in the ride but the ugly truth,IMO, is no 17" low profile tire is going to be able to make the ride significantly smoother. To do that, they have to have some "give" in the sidewall and there just isn't any room to give.
