Anyone has Stroked and Built FA Engine yet ?

Anyone out there ? I can't wait until I can pop a Used 86 for 15k and throw in 7k for a Brand New Stroked and Built NA Engine to drive the heck of it on the track.

As far as I know it's not really a viable option at this point, as there's too little material to work with in the cylinder walls. HKS did some work with stroker kit, but they were only able to get it to 2.1L so the gains were minimal, there's a thread here:

http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...ht=stroker+kit

If you want to stay NA then just get all the bolt-ons and a good tune and that should be plenty of oomph for the track.

That said, I'm also patiently waiting for cams, afforable TBs and possibly an intake manifold combined with more tunning down the road to give me some options once the factory warranty is up and my car retires to full time summer toy status

There were some threads with people looking to put our FA20 heads on a FB25 block. But there has not been anything i have seen saying they were successful.

I think the market is too small, not many would pay 5-7K for a 2.5l 300 PS NA engine.

You would be surprised. I come from Turbo engines, and all I can tell you is that the Maintenance requires on the Turbo engines are Mind-Blowing, turbo lag, respond, boost creep etc.....

I would love to have an NA pushing 250 HP with 7500-8000 RPM.

The reason why S2000 is not making the list = Need Roll cage at the closest track to my place....

No dyno here, but I'm running TRD intake Lachute Performance OPFP, and a somewhat aggressive unichip map, and pulling in 3rd/4th is almost equal to an AP1 s2000. A full 3rd gear pull and my front bumper is at his door.

I should've mentionned that that was on 94 octane.. which makes the aggressive map safer. (Kind of ''individual results may vary'')

Me too. S2000 is not a Coupé unfortunately. GT86 is not "race" enough. I'd love it to be like a "cheap" 911 GT3 RS.
