I never said how far east to move? I hear there's plenty of space in the desert.

Turns out, A LOT of other people agree with you. Hence high CoL. For me, California is really nice to visit, I don't think I could live there though.

Hahaha, fair enough. Houses are large and aplenty in the central valley but I couldn't be arsed to live out there :\.

If I can I'd like to buy a place around here just while I'm working here (I work in Silicon Valley/SF as a software engineer so it is sort of where I'll have to stay for now) just to accrue some value.

Eventually it'd be nice to move back to Southern California, near the beach. But even that is a whole different kind of expensive.

I really hope this is the case. I’m skeptical because of what I have seen. The flu rarely does what this is doing. The acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) viral storm that causes people to die rapidly or need hospitalization and critical intervention is unique to this viral type.

Sheltering and social distancing is still necessary because without it the hospital system will be overwhelmed like Italy and like New York. Deaths would definitely go up. If Italy has 7k deaths that are confirmed then the US would see much more given a similar situation—much more than 20,000. Moreover, the statistic that 36k people die every year in the US from the flu is estimated cases—not confirmed cases. Like I said when I compared this to the 2009 Swine Flu, which only had 18,036 WHO confirmed deaths, but that had a CDC estimated 284,000 deaths, we have 23,500 confirmed cases already, which means estimated deaths could already exceed 300,000.

Still, this is good news. It is like there is a fire, and now we know more of the forest that could burn is already burnt.

During the 1918 Spanish Flu, in many states/cities, coughing in public without covering your mouth was an arrest-able offense, along with spitting on the ground.

Is your medical facility trying the hydroxychloroquine, azithromycin and zinc sulfate cocktail on those with early symptoms to see if it reduces the incidents of ARDS (that most people seem to be dying from as a result of Covid-19, not the virus itself)? If so anything positive?

No we arenít. I have heard different things about this. Didnít someone overdose on this med, and arenít doctors stockpiling this med? We did have different patients refusing meds in favor for getting some of that malaria treatment online. I know.

I'll probably go out after work today just to do something, since it's been a couple days again since I last left the apartment.

It's supposed to rain over the weekend.. so that's disappointing. If only the weather would warm up for a couple days, at least I could go outside with my camping chair somewhere and a book to just enjoy the fresh air away from people. But sadly it looks like rain this weekend and possibly next.

Well, hang in there, spike21 -

Would you like me to ship some granddaughters up to you to keep you company?

The VA home here has chose to administer the malaria medication.

I did hear that someone OD'd on it as well. Didn't see the article myself and I couldn't find it doing a brief search.
