It's a small lightweight coupe, it'll do like any other. Perhaps better because it has that reinforced structure, but realistically the SUV soccermoms and brodawgs in their lifted trucks are going to kill you in a collision.

I believe the knee airbag is in fact designed to protect knees from arrows, and less from car crashes. Quite useful, these days

What I need is an ejectable drivers seat. In case of a crash the roof will split and the seat will thrust upward sending me 50 yards into the air and deploy a parachute and land me softly away from the crash site.

Not sure how accurate that article is because I could not dig up another source that mentioned crash worthiness... of course that will come later closer to release, right now the journalists only focus on how it drives.
wow. we'll literally be sitting just a little over a foot off of the pavement.
talk about hugging the road!

Hope it has high rating, although I am waiting for the "get a ______ if you want high ratings" comment. I drove an MR2 for a while, 91 turbo with the "OMG WE ARE ALL GOING TO DIE SNAP OVERSTEER NNNOOOEEESSSS" suspension. So I am fairly confident I'll be able to safely drive the BRZ. But there is always that just in case factor.

Has their been any news on crash testing at all, obviously my intentions are not to get in accident with this? This is a small car, which can hold 4 people (4 seats at least) at least my S2000 has some gap from the front and rear and has a very strong windshield for it being a convertible but kids won't be riding in the S2K. This should be on everyone's mind as well as a weekend track racer. I do know however that a roll-cage can be installed rather easily..
If you're concerned about safety get a Volvo. If you're concerned about gas milage get a Prius. Otherwise don't worry about anything and drive.
