Bad news, or maybe someone can help
For the past weekends i have been studying the wiring diagram for the rear fog that is absent from the USDM cars, probably even risking frying my BodyECU,
Why? because i want to control the rear fog through the stalk, long story short i ordered a stalk with front fogs only i was sent one with front+rear so i took on the challenge. Some picture i took, hoping to write a DIY if it works, Trust me it was messier with tools and so much extra wires everywhere. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] Didn't work at all, I come to the conclusion that the rear fog is disabled on the USDM BECU i bet the LED that lights up the rear fog symbol is missing (someone needs to confirm that for me) If the rear fog is disabled in the BECU could it be re enabled? The tricky part is that, the stalk controls ground, so when you put it to the the rear fog position it springs back to front fogs and disconnects ground.

You're talking about the red triangle thing at the back of the car, right? On American cars it's just a reflector. It has no lights or wires for lights. I just modified mine as a brake light and a tail light.
I used this http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10816 as a guide. I used two red LED's instead of bulbs and rigged up two diodes so that when you turn on the headlights one LED lights and when you step on the brakes both LED's light. Works great. |

Since the blub and wiring for the rear fog isn't on the car I doubt the relay or fuse is there either. The body ecu may not have the output for the relay either if the part is not the same in all markets.
I control my rear fog from the stalk but I connected it to one of the front fog outputs at the body ecu.

Yes i do have the wiring diagram schematics for our cars. you can see i have them printed out in one of my pictures. I already know there isn't a bulb back there, i already installed the bulb in the back, the point is i want to control the light with the EDM stalk, i have seen almost all the threads about what people are doing with the rear triangle reflector. it is confirmed the relay and fuses are completely absent as well, i had to add my own, i just butcher up the front fog wiring harness i got from nigel. this is what i want to achieve [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVzSXSYefjA"]Toyota GT86 euro - Light indicator stalk - YouTube[/ame] Another member here,@kmbkk is also trying to achieve the same thiing

For rear fog light? i wouldn't think you would get a ticket for that, the car is so low the rear fog doesn't really bother anyone.

What's with all the geniuses that drive with their rear fog on all the time? Do they think it looks cool? Fkn annoying bright light in my face after a long day at work on dark highways...

Yes it's way brighter than just a tail light, it's the same intensity as a brake light. Do you drive with your foot on the brake all the time? I didn't think so. There's a reason it's illegal in many countries to use the rear fog when the visibility is over 100 meters.
