OEM Fog harness for FR-S
-WORK IN PROGRESS-
I've been wanting fog lights on my car for a while, however due to a recent accident that has set me back a month and i'm down 500$ due to paying my deductible Anyways after looking at many fog light kits they call seem to come with their own harness when this car comes pre-wired for fogs from the factory It seems that TOYOTA is NOT willing to sell the harness by itself shown below: [IMG][/IMG] I am thinking about creating/replicating the OEM harness; doesn't seem hard , my goal is to make a PnP for those who want the dash indicator to light up or control their fogs with stalk. This harness would also people who have fogs already installed, I have already purchase a pair of h11 connectors I removed my indicator harness to see how the pins look like. [IMG][/IMG] I looked around and found some harness pins that might work, but holly shipping price anyways i am not too motivated right now to complete this project ASAP, however if i do get some interest in this harness i may make some for sell

Here's what you can do,
The OEM connector uses a denso pin, here's what you need http://www.ebay.com/itm/181078774006 The OEM turn signal connector has a male pin (car side) for the fogs, to tap into that, cut your H11 harness leads, splice in the ground with the ground on the turn signal connector (bulb side, what you have above in red) and wire up your new pin, and put it into the hole that is plugged (after removing the plug obviously) on your turn signal connector (bulb side) If you connect the fogs through either pin #4 on the turn signal stalk or the harness that the USDM fog light kit utilizes (it's wrapped up in a bundle behind the trunk release switch) the fog light indicator will turn on when you turn on your fogs All of this is laid out here http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...light=foglight |

No, using a harness like this replicates the OEM foglight function, so no foglights without the low beams on first without some modification

I also looked into that, It is very possible, the fogs relay are connected to the tail light relay that's why they only come on when you turn on headlights/tails , however having a independent fogs that turn on without the headlights does not interests me that much because having fogs on during the day seems silly, that's what DRLs are for. I'm still waiting on my fog bezels and housing to come in but nigel-jdm hasn't gotten back to me for over two weeks during the mean time i've been working/looking into rear fog function enable on USDM cars with EDM stalk, but due to the flooding and rain in SOCAL i haven't gotten much done.
