Not saying its a bad thing at all. Strapping bottle rockets to a GI Joe is good clean american fun.

However, it is a very crude way of doing it.

Kind of like Michael Bay's approach to movie making. More boobs and more explosions = better movie.

Hmmm, now that I think about it, I must have played out a LOT of Michael Bay movies in stop action animation growing up and didn't even realize it. Another great opportunity lost...

I somewhat like this car but If I was going to buy one in 2020 when it's released I'd need Toyota to make sure it does a few things first.

1. Tone down that front end design. Not digging the pointy nose or alcove headlights. Make it a bit more understated and sleek like the LFA.

2. Please keep it simple. No hybrid system. All it needs to be is a relatively light RWD, with a 6 cylinder turbo and a 6 spd manual transmission. You can make a DCT option, but don't go the GTR and Ferrari route of dumping the manual altogether.

3. Make it affordable. This should cost about 2/3rds of what a GTR costs. The fact that Toyota doesn't even need to develop an engine should ensure that this isn't a car that is out of the reach of the average fellow.

Geeze, they need to make this already. Stick an RCf motor in there and keep weight to 3200lbs.

going back through this thread to 2013-2014 and seeing the "_____ confirmed for 2015 models" and "2014 rumored to have x HP upgrade" made me chuckle.

I dunno.

FT-1 looks like a 2 seater.

The BMW looks like a 2+2.

Yes. There's a lot of shared character lines there. The greenhouse does look more extended.

They could easily turn it into a 2+2 but the concept photos/sketches have some sort of shelf type area behind the driver and passenger seats.

"Other racing features include bucket seats with high-quality stitching, a six-point belt and red anodised safety features such as the outlet nozzles for the extinguishing foam, the fire extinguisher itself, and the two switches on the centre console for the emergency shut-off and fire extinguishing mechanism. The only elements in the rear of the vehicle are two helmets integrated into the transmission tunnel. These are held in place by a belt when not in use. In the place of a rear seat bench, there are only covers for the eBoost energy accumulators."

The BMW concept is not a 4 seater. Behind the front seats there are only covers for the eBoost energy accumulators and integrated helmet storage area.

I like the side profile of the BMW.

From the front it looks like they nailed the smirky/snarky attitude of most of the BMW owners I know though. Not a fan. Say it with me now...

"Yeeess, I aaam a BMW and I aaam superior to yooouuuuu!"

Don't like following any of those TM threads.

Companies TM stuff just so other companies don't scoop them up first. Even if there is nothing attached to the idea yet.
