You can't forget the bias nature of news agencies. haha You'd HOPE they would keep the news direct and factual.

And Updates on what has happened with your dilemma?

You'll only get good footage if they take your car and service it right away. Usually your car's checked in then the Service paperwork is handed off to the technician and he decides when he want to repair your car. Even if you have an appointment made, it might be a day before the tech looks at your car. The only time you'll get around this is if you wait for the service to be completed and the tech jumps on the car right away.

Im a tech at a Domestic dealership. I see driving like this all the time. Although some may consider it unethical, cars are made to be driven.

Cars are definitely made to be driven but there is a fine line between driven and abused...

When it comes to dealerships, the general rule seems to be if said action is performed by the dealership, it's 'driving'. If it's performed by the owner, it's 'abuse'.

I can say with confidence that majority car owners would considers this unethical. You do not beat the crap out of someone's car because you don't care for it and because you "see driving like this all the time" at your work place does not make it ok to do.

To OP, I would DEMAND an extended warranty for having their technician drive your car like that to "test the fuel pump" for 7 miles. That's like 28 runs on a quarter mile drag strip!

The service paperwork said that the car had been driven 7 miles, which I thought was a little excessive, especially considering that there is a stoplight every 1/4 mile for miles and miles around the dealer.

So back home, we disconnect the dashcam to see what happened. Basically what we find is a younger (20's) service tech redlining through the gears from streetlight to streetlight repeatedly - and theres 15-20 minutes worth of it.

Do you guys think that is really necessary to diagnose the idle-chirp? We had already been to the dealership weeks before to have it diagnosed. We were just waiting for the parts until now.

Or am I just overreacting about being bothered by this?
this is horrible and i would recommend you to tell the service manager right away. i am even a Toyota technician and i would never in my life treat a customer car like it is mine. not except-able at all. hate dumb people in my industry that make us all look bad

Well after reading all the post my feeling is that the dealer should burn... I'm tired of $#!*y customer service in the United States. Great customer service is something that helped make this country great and it seems to be long gone... Look forward to hearing the outcome!

What is your girlfriend doing about it? Funny how she became wife in one of the other posts......

Thought this car was a leased vehicle and I went back and re-read the posts and it is NEVERMORE who has the leased car, my goof.

So, is there an update to this from OP?
