TSB "S-SB-0019-12" Speaker Grille Appearance 8/28/12 FR-S

Production Change: JF1ZNAA1#D1704676 (so if it's after this VIN, your car should be good)

What's done: It basically calls for the tweeter's wiring to be 'rearranged' and if that doesn't work, the grille is replaced with a new one (same part number, so it's not an updated part) and then the wire is 'rearranged' again. So it might require parts, but will not in most cases. Just a simple wire.

Some of the speaker grilles in the dash are not flush as they should be due to the speaker wire cable being in the way. The fix is to move the cable and reinstall the cover. If the cover is 'broken', a replacement cover is ordered in. The part number is the same- no changes there.

Should technically be both vehicles, but it's up to Subbie to issue a TSB if it's something they find to be abnormal. Toyota issued it because customers are complaining about it and they want to alleviate the issue with a tech fix- especially since it's so simple.

It's just simple relocating wiring.
if my dealer is like 50 miles away, i would rather do it myself.
