Nothing but Motul 300v for me here. The BRZ will be seeing time trials and the occasion track day so I'll be wanting really good shear protection and fuel dilution.

Boxer engines (at least the turbo EJ ones) do not take well to mobil 1. NA boxer motors? I dunno, but I'm sticking with what I know works.

I feel the same way. The manufacturer knows what's best.

Change it every 10,000kms! (even though its guarenteed to 20,000kms)
but may switch to the comparible ENEOS just to be more JDM~

Always used Mobil1 synthetic, never been given any reason not to. Wix Gold or NAPA Blue filters, every time.

Never had to deal with cartridge filters though. All my Lexuses have been dropped off at my dealer because they give me great service and if I can't stab the filter with a screwdriver, I don't care to change the oil myself.

After running Royal Purple in my Spec, I will only put Royal Purple Oil and filter in every car I own...I use Amsoil with a K&N filter on my wife's car, though, since it's only $6 and change a quart at O'Reilly's, and the only other oil I would put into my car.

When they remove the bowl of RP and still keep it spinning, think of cold starts (where the vast majority of engine wear can be attributed to).

Had good experiences with Royal Purple and Mobil1 synthetic..on my 300zx (VG30DET), S14(KA24DET) and SC300(2jZ-GE)

And Castrol GTX on my Rx7(13B-T)

might stick to those brands

Also, someone mentioned the BRZ/FRS will require 0w20...I don't know if that is confirmed, but it would make sense, since most newer cars are using that viscosity, and, to my knowledge, no one makes a conventional 0w20...

Just so you know Royal Purple no longer uses their Synerlec additive package in their regular oil. You have to buy Royal Purple HPS to get the "old" Royal Purple. The regular RP is now just a Group II base stock with common additives that everyone else uses.
